Timbaland[art] and [art]Missy Elliot are both planning to release solo albums in June.
The 'Pass At Me' rapper and the 'Get Ur Freak On' hitmaker - who last worked together on 2011 track 'Take Ur Clothes Off' - want to drop their forthcoming records, Timbaland's 'Shock Value III' and Missy's 'Block Party, at the same time so they don't move "too ahead" of each other.
Timbaland - whose last album was 2009's 'Shock Value II' - told MTV News: "Right now, we're just preparing to get both our videos, our first singles, shot kinda at the same time.
"We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously. I just don't want to move too ahead of her, and she doesn't want to move too ahead of me."
Last year, Missy - who revealed in June 2011 that she has been diagnosed with autoimmune disorder Graves' disease - hooked up with Timbaland on Demi Lovato's 'All Night Long' record from her 'Unbroken' album.
Missy has recently been working as a songwriter and producer for Keyshia Cole, Monica and Jazmine Sullivan, but she hasn't released a full-length album since 2005's 'The Cookbook'.
She is set to feature on Timbaland's star-studded album along with Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Chris Brown.
David Guetta hopes he can make house music as big as hip-hop and rock music in America.
The DJ and producer has been a key figure in bringing commercial dance to the US charts through his tracks with Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Snoop Dogg and Flo Rida, among others, and is glad more people are catching on to the sound.
He told news.com.au: "House was underground for so long. I always wanted house to be as big as rock music and hip-hop. And it's happening. It's even bigger. I'm not only happy for myself but for the house community."
However, David was recently angered when an unreleased version of his track 'Titanium' was leaked, featuring vocals by Mary J. Blige, rather than Australian singer Sia, who originally sung the track as a demo, but David had liked it so much he selected it for the official release.
He said of the leaked song: "You shouldn't even know about that. I'd rather not speak about it. That was annoying. It wasn't supposed to be out there.
"The first time I heard what Sia did I fell in love with it. I didn't even want to give it to anyone else; it was perfect the way it was. It's not only about how big you are in America, it's about the song and the voice."
David's 'Nothing but the Beat' album is out now.
Kim Kardashian is reportedly dating Mark Sanchez.
The 31-year-old socialite - who was famously married to basketball star Kris Humphries for just 72 days last year - has allegedly been hooking up with the New York Jets quarterback, but has been careful to avoid being seen with him in public.
A source told Starberryicecream.com: "Kim and Mark like to meet in hotels for dinner dates and flings.
"Whenever Kim is in New York, they hang out. They are very careful with not being seen together, Mark is seeing someone! She has her hopes set on a bigger star than Sanchez. But for now, he will do."
Meanwhile, Kim's D-A-S-H clothing store in Miami has become so popular she is having to scout for a new store to move it to.
According to TMZ.com, Kim - who runs the fashion outlets with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe - is looking to double the size of the store in Florida.
Since her break-up with Kris in October, Kim has been spending lots of time with her family to think about what happened with her marriage.
She said: "I really did some soul-searching, and I needed that. I needed to just be with the family. It's been a hard couple of months. I really didn't think that following my heart would create this much backlash."
Nick and Aaron Carter's sister has died.
Leslie Carter passed away aged 25 in New York yesterday and the "deeply saddened" family of the two pop stars have appealed for privacy while they mourn the aspiring singer .
The Carter family said in a statement to 'Access Hollywood': "Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter.
"We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time."
No further details about Leslie's death have been made public.
Leslie - whose single 'Like Wow!' featured on the soundtrack to 2001 animated movie 'Shrek' - married husband Mike in 2008 and announced she was pregnant in June 2010.
She gave birth to their daughter, Alyssa Jane Ashton, on April 1 last year.
Leslie signed a record deal with Dreamworks in 1999 but a planned album was never released.
Rihanna, Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 are to headline a charity concert in Los Angeles later this month.
The acts will perform at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on February 12 - the same night as the Grammys - for the exclusive show, which will benefit the Children's Orthopaedic Center and an artists programme at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Tickets for the show - which also features Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia - are $1000 each, but with a number of huge stars in town for the music awards, the show is bound to be a star studded affair and could include a few surprise guests.
The day also promises to be busy for all artists, as 'You Da One' star Rihanna is expected to perform her single 'We Found Love' with Calvin, then later take to the stage with Coldplay at the Grammys for their duet 'Princess of China.'
Coldplay singer Chris Martin has previously admitted he had to "pluck up the courage" to ask the 'Umbrella' star to sing with them.
He said: "We did a show in Las Vegas and I met her and said, 'Do you think there's any chance?' I was very Hugh Grant-like and spluttering about it.
"It took a while to pluck up the courage to ask her. She has such an amazing voice and it's so different to mine."
Meanwhile, Adele has confirmed she will make her return to live performance singing at the Grammy awards after successful surgery on her vocal cords last year.
She tweeted: "Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait, speak soon xx. (sic)"
Will.I.Am's new solo album features Britney Spears, Alicia Keys and Shakira.
The Black Eyed Peas leader featured Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger on the first single from the album, 'T.H.E (The Hardest Ever),' but promises many more guests on the other tracks on '#willpower.'
He told Radio station Capital FM: "I have a song with Alicia Keys - me, Alicia and Swedish House Mafia. I have a song with The Beats, which is pretty grand.
"Me and Shakira have been trying to finish the stuff we started, and me and Britney is really crazy."
"So we got a song with me, LMFAO and Eva Simons. A song with me and Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz. I got a whole other bunch of collaborations."
Will.i.am also explained how the album will have a positive message for fans.
He added: "'#willpower' is just a reminder to myself of staying contestant with the dream - keeping the dream alive.
"It was all a dream when I was 15 years old - 20 years later I managed to take the dream from an idea to physicality. So '#willpower' is uplifting songs, encouragement for those that need it."
'T.H.E (The Hardest Ever)' is released on February 5.
Nicki Minaj is like a female version of Lil Wayne, according to Birdman.
The American rapper sees similarities between his two Cash Money Records acts - and he praised the 'Super Bass' hitmaker for improving her music "so much" in recent months.
He told Complex: "I just came from listening to her album. She's grown so much as an artist. She's so talented that this s**t is scary. Like, wow she really is the female Weezy. Hands down she bad.
"Her talents, skills, and what she done with her music and the way she is in front of a camera. She's just so talented to be so young. It's a brand new style. I'm just so glad she's on our team."
Birdman is excited about Wayne's forthcoming album, 'I Am Not A Human Being 2', which he confirmed is "definitely" completed and is expected to be released later this summer.
He added: "Wayne's got an album he's about to drop real soon. Its called 'I am not a Human Being 2.' It's gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven't picked the date yet. Whenever he's ready to drop his album, we're gonna make it do what it do.
"He's definitely got an album done and ready to go. Wayne works a lot. There's no telling [if 'Rebirth 2' will happen]. But I know for sure we've got 'I Am Not A Human Being 2' ready to go. That's the next project."
How would you feel if you discovered a historic collection of African music - forgotten by the world for decades? And what would you do if you learned it was in danger of being lost forever?
The Radio Tanzania Dar-es-Salaam archives contain over 100,000 hours of priceless Tanzanian music on damaged and deteriorating reel-to-reel tapes, and they need your help.
Radio Tanzania: Reviving the Forgotten Archives was created to raise awareness and support for our project to preserve, digitize and restore this collection and make it available to the world through mp3 downloads, a 'best of' compilation CD, and a documentary film. Check out the video below.
The project has two aims: to save and to share the Radio Tanzania archives. To save the archives, they will digitize the 100,000 hours of East African music recorded from the mid-1960s through the 1980s. This will include providing high-quality equipment for the transfer of the music and training Tanzanian employees/interns to perform the bulk of the digitization. The project leaders have spoken with a number of audio archival experts, budgeted costs, and put together a small team of people perfectly suited for the job.
To share the Radio Tanzania archives, a compilation 'Best Of" CD and a website will be released and launched, dedicated to the history and dissemination of the music, complete with background info, translations and photographs. A documentary film will also be produced, allowing viewers to get an inside look at the digitization project, the history of the archives, the evolution of Tanzanian music, and what makes this music significant for contemporary artists and listeners. The film will include interviews and performances by surviving musicians.
The Radio Tanzania archives contain priceless treasures of cultural heritage with tremendous academic, historic, anthropological and entertainment value, but their existence is in grave danger. The material at risk includes ethnographic recordings of ngoma drumming from dozens of Tanzania's tribes, Arabic taarab, energetic Afro-jazz dance music, political broadcasting used to garner support for independence movements across Africa, and more. Essentially, the archives are an audio-musical history of Tanzania's struggle for independence and its birth as a modern African nation. The digitization of this collection will be a tremendous good as an act of cultural perservation, and will benefit musicians, scholars, and music lovers alike.
Since the launch of the campaign in December, Radio Tanzania has raised $11,054, with 157 people backing the project. They have exactly 9 DAYS left before the Kickstarter campaign ends on Feb. 4th to reach their goal of $13,000. They are SO close!
