What's in the cards for Beyonce now that the lead singer of the now defunct hit group
Destiny's Child is fying solo? Beyonce is now reportedly working on her film career.
Beyonce's first major acting appearance was in a starring role in the 2001 TV movie Carmen: A Hip-Hopera, an update of the opera Carmen. In 2002 she appeared with Mike Myers as Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in Goldmember. A third film appearance was released in 2003. Beyonce appeared opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr. in The Fighting Temptations.
Two films starring Beyonce are planned for release in 2006. The first, The Pink Panther, stars Steve Martin, and will be released in February. The second, a version of the classic Broadway musical Dreamgirls, is still shooting with a late 2006 release expected. Even more exciting, Beyonce expects to begin work on a second solo album after her work on Dreamgirls is complete.Beyonce recorded the solo track "Check On It" for Destiny's Child's greatest hits collection #1's. It was forced out as a single after radio programmers lost interest in the official single "Stand Up for Love" and played Beyonce's track instead. It has become her 5th top 10 solo hit single.Beyonce has made history with her career achievements as a group artist and solo artist having been in the top selling female group of all time,being the first African-American woman to win ASCAP's (songwriting industry association) Songwriter of the Year award, recieving 5 Grammy Awards for the album Dangerously in Love and being the first female artist to have a #1 single and album simultaneously in both the U.S. and U.K.
2004 NAACP Image Awards Entertainer of the Year. She's seems unstoppable. Beyonce and rapper/music industry executive Jay-Z have been dating and/or professionally collaborating since 2002. Rumors frequently appear about a planned wedding, but they have always been denied by the couple. But we shall see.
