At the Concert for Hurricane Relief on Friday night, Kanye West voiced his opinion that "George Bush doesn't care about black people." What at first seemed like a slight diversion of script, quickly escalated into an all out rant over the wording of certain flood images on Yahoo. "I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family it says they're looting. You see a white family it says they are looking for food," stated West over pictures now removed. Jaws of viewers and co-stars alike dropped at the spectacle. Despite much criticism, the repercussions of his actions have proved to be far from detrimental to his career. West's new album, Late Registration, has predicted a 50,000 copy boost in sales. It is important amidst all of this hoopla that Americans stay focused on the real issue at hand.
