Blastro premieres native Chicago DJ and Producer Steve Smooth's video for "So High" today. The video supports the release of his first solo project and third full length album, available later this year on Ultra Records / Ménage Music.
"So High," featuring Luvli, has already created major buzz with the Inphinity & Kalendr Remix - featured in the music video directed by Michael Ryden - as well as the original mix. A mashup of the club scene and a Vegas-style pool party, the music video recreates these two settings with scantily-clad females - and males - gyrating to the beat, seemingly bottomless beverages, and a straight-up party vibe in the air.
Immersing himself in Chicago's dance music scene at an early age, Smooth signed to Ultra Records / Ménage Music in 2008 and released his sophomore album, Amp'd, with then production partner JJ Flores. The album featured the single "Let It Go," with vocals by B. Lee, which topped the charts and was in rotation on all of the major dance music radio shows in the U.S.
Voted one of "America's Favorite DJs" according to BPM Magazine, Smooth is currently a resident DJ at Chicago's Spybar every Thursday night. Just last year, he played over 100 shows and headlined in thirty different countries over the last five. Smooth's background also includes touring with fellow Chicago native and world renowned DJ Bad Boy Bill for a three year stint beginning in 2002.
Don't miss Steve Smooth's video premiere of "So High" on Blastro and be on the lookout for his album's release in late 2010.
