• Atlanta rapper T.I., born Clifford Harris, has had his appearances cancelled at some Atlanta area schools. T.I. is banned from speaking to students in two metro-Atlanta school districts. The schools don't care if T.I. is a popular rapper they care that he's a convicted felon and choose not to have him speaking to students at assemblies.

Cobb County officials cancelled T.I. at a high school named Pebblebrook. They insist that there isn't an overall ban but officials felt that with recent gang problems and the death of a student it was not a good time for the rapper to visit.

Activist Gerald Rose of the New World Order told WSB-TV, "That's the very reason Harris needs to be at Pebblebrook." "He needs to come here and bring his message," Rose explained. Representatives from The Fulton County school district said T.I. was banned from speaking to their students due to his gun conviction.

Earlier this year T.I. pleaded guilty to federal weapons possession charges, and is to be sentenced in one year, after completing a period of community service.

In the year that he is awaiting sentencing, the rapper must complete at least 1,000 hours of a total 1,500 hours of community service, talking to youth groups about the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs.
