Country singers and movie stars gathered in Nashville on Monday night to walk the red carpet at the world premiere of the movie Country Strong, starring Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.
From actor Tobey McGuire - who co-produced the film - to country stars like Martina McBride, actors and artists excited the crowd as they filled the theater.
Happy to be in Music City for the event, Gwyneth Paltrow said, "Oh man, I'm just so grateful to be here right now and I don't know, it's been like the most amazing experience to do this film and get to sing these songs. And I can't believe that one of them is on the radio. And it's just thrilling, you know. I'm thrilled."
Tim McGraw, who play's the husband and manager of Paltrow's character in the film actually turned down the film twice before he finally accepted the role. Glad to be on board for such a strong movie, the country singer stated:
"Great writing...Shana, who directed and wrote the film was fantastic. She did...I mean there was so much heart in it. The characters are so rich. I mean, that's when...when you look at any script, when you look at any movie...I think when you look back at the movies you love - the characters were so well developed. And I think that's what's great about this film. And the music...and then when the music enhances it. I mean, a lot of times one or the other sort of falls apart - either the characters aren't developed enough and the music's really good or vice versa. I think this one they both enhance each other so much."
Country Strong hits theaters nationwide on January 7, 2011.
