Slim Thug recently announced that he's cutting ties with Interscope/Star Trak Records.
MTV reports that Slim approached the bosses at Interscope/Star Trak to express his issues with the labels and asked for his release. Among his complaints was mismanagement of his debut album and the company's constant turnover of its employees. According to the rapper, the bosses heard his pleas and he will be a free agent by the end of this week.
"We all came up with something we could all agree with," explained Slim Thug. "It ain't no hard feelings." Slim is now preparing to release a second project with his group The Boss Hogg Outlwaz via Koch Records. He will then follow it up with his second solo album titled Boss Of All Bosses in the late summer.
"It's gonna be different. You gonna hear a lot more Houston records," Slim said of his sophomore solo project. "The feedback I got from my fans [about the] last album was that they wanted to hear a lot more Houston records. So I worked with people out of Houston, a bunch of producers I came up with. I did, like, 30 songs with these cats, so I really got the album d one. I'm gonna get, like, two from Pharrell [Williams] and maybe work with a few other big producers, but keep it Houston."
