Sometimes I report the story without adding juice to it. This is one of those stories.

In "You just never know" news, The Jewelry Man is informed that rapper Cassidy was critically injured after a SUV that he was riding in was struck by a truck.

According to reports, Cassidy was leaving New Jersey and headed to a recording studio when a truck swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with the SUV he was ridding in. Of the four people riding in the SUV, Cassidy was the only one seriously injured.

Here's a representative for Cassidy's label Sony/BMG to a statement to AllHipHop.com on Cassidy's status: He was the only one that suffered critical injuries. [He suffered] a fractured skull and broken bones on the left side of his face.

According to MTV, on Thursday afternoon Cassidy underwent a CAT scan, which revealed that his brain activity is normal. His doctors also added that the rapper is heavily sedated and his injuries are not life-threatening.
