• Word on the streets is Murder Inc, days after being acquitted of money laundering charges, is in negotiations with Warner Music Group to find a new home for their label.

Apparently, the Jigga Man and Def Jam don't wanna renew the money deal it had with Murder Inc. If you can remember, back in May, Def Jam politely told Irv and company to beat it. The only issue was that Ashanti and JA Rule still owed Def Jam one more record. That's why Def Jam put out these silly "greatest hits" albums by Shani' and Rule earlier this week.

If I were the Jigga Man, I wouldn't be trying to re-sign Murder Inc either. Ashanti's last album, Concrete Roses, sold under a million LPs. The CD marked the first time Ashanti sold under the 1 million mark. Meanwhile, JA has failed to clear platinum sales in last two album releases.

Here's Christopher Lorenzo on Murder Inc leaving Def Jam: We're free finally. We have a lot of options and we'll figure it out after the New Year. We got hundreds of songs ready to go. Oh really?

Outside of new songs, the artists also got new makeovers. Check out the Ashanti hood-related and JA Rule Snow Bunny makeovers. Speaking of Ashanti, why she always got her mouth open. I guess she's happy because she thinks she's about to get paid. That or Nelly's teaching her some new tricks.

Truth be told, Irv had begun negotiations regarding a high-level executive position at Warner Music Group's Atlantic Records earlier this year. The talks halted when Warner execs opted to await the outcome of the trial. Now that Murder is not the case, look for Irv to get his hands on some WETMONEY.
