The City of Atlanta has dropped murder charges against Gucci Mane in the alleged murder of a Young Jeezy signee.

Prosecutors say they did not have enough evidence to put Gucci (born Radric Davis) on trial. Gucci was accused of killing Henry Clark III aka Pookie Loc, a rapper signed to Jeezy's Corporate Thugz Entertainment. Gucci claims he shot Clark in self-defense when the victim and four other men attacked him.

The rapper is presently locked up in Atlanta after pleading guilty to beating up promoter Troy Buffor with a pool cue back in June. Gucci was sentenced to six months and will be on probation for the next six and a half years once freed. He also agreed to pay Buffor's $3,000 medical bill.

According to Gucci's lawyer Manny Arora, Gucci should be released in January.

Gucci Mane dropped his debut album, Trap House, this past May. He posted a $100,000 bail for his murder case the day of the LP's release.
