• When the weather is nice, The Jewelry Man showcases the ice.

In "You know I ain't singing for my health" news, word on the street is my ex-girlfriend Mariah Carey is looking out for her best financial interest in the wake of her successful album "The Emancipation of Mimi. "

Oh really? Pray tell EbenGregory, what do you mean?

It's being reported that the singer has hired record business attorney Allen Grubman to help her take care of business in the Island/Def Jam conference room when it's time to update her pact with parent company, Universal Music Group. Apparently Mariah feels that she was underpaid by Island/Def Jam for her "Emancipation of Mimi" album.

Here's the funny: Ironically, Grubman had worked for Carey during her years married to Sony Music chief Tommy Mottola, but she fired him in 1997 after her split with the record mogul. The Jewelry Man is also informed that Carey is still keeping around her longtime attorney Don Passman, who guided her through the "Glitter" mess and helped her negotiate the $50 million payoff from EMI Music.

Passman, sources say, while good, does not have the inside track Grubman has with Universal Music Group's Doug Morris. Only Morris can OK what should be a record-setting money deal for Carey. And only Grubman can get Morris to agree to something like that.

And speaking of emancipation, The Jewelry Man has emancipated EbenGregory.

And speaking of glitter, The Jewelry Man has plenty of that so.

Here's some pink and yellow jewelry being dropped by EbenGregory on Mariah Carey hiring a high powered lawyer to handle her negotiations with Def Jam: She that is of the opinion money will do everything may well be suspected of doing everything for money.
