In more "I'm tired of getting raped for my publishing" news, super-producer Lil Jon has joined forces with 50 Cent and the G-Unit to cross promote and market their artists. The King of Crunk recently told Billboard that the union is an innovation in collaboration. Under the deal, artists will release projects under their original label deals, but BME and G-Unit will jointly market the releases. Lil Scrappy is slated to be one of the first artist to benefit from the new venture.
In other words, Lil Jon finally has had enough of the bullsh*t and figures: if you can't beat them, join them. "50 Cent is going to collaborate and appear on certain projects with BME artists," Jon told Billboard. "And I'm going to collaborate and appear on certain projects with G-Unit. Basically 50 and Lil Scrappy were already good friends ... while we were out on tour, 50 came to me with the business proposition, and we sat down and worked it out." Oh really?
I guess the deal has nothing to do with the fact that Lil Jon has been getting pimped for his publishing by TVT Records. The Crunk Juice spokesman recently told Ozone magazine that "I've had record sales totaling probably like 10 million and I ain't seen no money from the label. None at all. Zip, zero. Show money and production is how I'm getting paid."
Now Lil Jon wants to get paid with 50. Hey if Mobb Deep and Mase can get in bed with 50, why can't he? Get it Lil Jon, get it!
