In "I need mine" news, the leprechaun suit wearing homey Lil Flip has departed from Sony Music Group and has inked a deal with Asylum Records/Warner Music Group.

Oh really EbenGregory.sounds like the check is in the mail huh man?

    Yes.

The Jewelry Man is informed that the Houston rapper will leave Sony with the rights to the master recording of his new album, I Need Mine. The split is rumored to have happened because of Flip's frustration over his much delayed album. I Need Mine was slated to hit records stores last year, but it was pushed back to a May release which also never occurred.

Here's Lil Flip's manager, Sandy Lal, to AllHipHop.com on getting Flip out a sticky situation: Flip and I are ecstatic. Our relationship with Sony has been quite fruitful. But I've always believed that Flip's potential is virtually unlimited, and we're really eager to take it to the next level. Being able to walk away with the masters to I Need Mine is an absolute victory.

And speaking of more background information.word on the streets is, the same day it was announced that Flip was leaving Sony surfaced, I Need Mine was leaked onto the Internet. Some insiders believed it was a retaliatory move made by Sony.

That's nice.like being an artist that makes 4 albums and only owns 5% of the royalty money. And speaking of slim pockets that need lining.

Here's some jewelry being dropped by EbenGregory on Lil Flip leaving Sony records for greener pastures: Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.
