The first single from Lady Antebellum's new album, "Just A Kiss," was released to (May 2) to radio stations, and the trio is set to perform it live on Thursday (May 5) on American Idol.

The song was written by band members Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hilary Scott.

The band's third album - which has yet to be titled - is set for release later this year, and is the follow-up to their triple-platinum Need You Now.

The single will be available Tuesday in Walmart stores. Lady A will also talk about the single Tuesday at 12:30 PM CT during a live Web chat through Facebook and ladyantebellum.com/live.

"We love writing songs from personal experience, and this is definitely one of those songs," Scott said. "There is so much excittement at the beginning of a new relationship...all the butterflies and that optimistic feeling that this is 'the one.'"

Haywood also shares, "One of the best things about writing for us is that we have the option to speak from both the man and woman's perspective because Charles and Hill can share lead vocals."

Kelly added, "The day we wrote this song was one of those days that renewed my faith in the bond the three of us have as songwriters. ... It came so easily, and it reminded me of the early days when we started out, and we'd spend hours in my brother Josh's house writing songs. Everyone keeps asking me if we feel pressure after the success of 'Need You Now,' and we are trying to not even think about the new album or these songs in those terms. We are just writing about what we are going through in our lives, and we hope that country music fans continue to connect with them."
