• Katy Perry has announced her 'California Dream' world tour, her largest to date.

The 'California Gurls' hitmaker is set to kick off the dates in Lisbon, Portugal, next spring before heading across mainland Europe and the UK before heading further afield in promotion of her 'Teenage Dream' album.

She tweeted: "THE CALIFORNIA DREAMS TOUR kicks off in Europe & beyond! Check www.katyperry.com/news for YOUR date! (sic)

"P.S. My dates in the USA, AUS & MORE are being put in soon of COURSE! Don't you worry... (sic)"

Little is known about the singer's planned stage show, other than it will continue the 'cotton candy cloud' theme of her album cover, on which she appears naked, with a cloud of the pink fluffy treat - also known as candy floss - strategically covering her.

Of the stage show Katy said: "I hope that it's going to engage all of your senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch."

Katy is also known for her risque onstage outfits and sets which have previously seen her wearing latex dresses, polka dot bikinis, dressing as an American footballer and singing on top of a huge Chapstick cannon, as well as having a huge banana as a stage prop.
