• Unknow amounts of people are dead and millions effected. The news is littered with story after story of heartache, despair and utter loss of hope. The after effects of hurricane Katrina, which battered Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and mostly Louisiana early Saturday morning, replicate that of an atomic bomb. Terrified citizens swim waist deep in infested waters, while dodging gunfire in search of family members, friends or just help. As levees continue to break, hopeful survivors take more and more hits in this battle against nature.

Today President Bush issued an assurance that help is surely on the way and also insisted that "the city of New Orleans would rebuilt in no time." Massive relief efforts have been made by many organizations to provide water, food, shelter and medical care. Millions of Americans continue to open up their hearts and homes to these victims, providing hope of a healed future.
