In "He can't stop, he won't stop" news, Kanye West has been tapped to write the theme for Cruise's "Mission: Impossible III." Roc-A-Fella's bread-winner will bring his inventive and dynamic style to the iconic theme song, Paramount studios confirmed. He follows in the footsteps of U2 and Limp Bizkit, who performed the "Mission: Impossible" themes for the 1996 and 2000 films, respectively.
Here's Tom Cruise on Kanye West penning the theme song to MI3: We wanted to take this installment of 'Mission' to the next level and Kanye's music definitely added to accomplishing that goal. As we've done with the film, what he's done with the 'Mission' theme is going to blow people away.
In "Mission: Impossible III," Cruise reprises his role as Special Agent Ethan Hunt. The film also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ving Rhames, Billy Crudup, Michelle Monaghan, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Keri Russell, Maggie Q, and Laurence Fishburne. J.J. Abrams ("Lost," "Alias") directed the film, which was shot on location in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Enough of that, let's hear more people play up Kanye West.
Here's the director, J.J. Abrams, on Kanye West penning the theme song to MI3: My goal is to take the 'Mission' franchise and re-interpret it to make a movie that is familiar, but absolutely brand new. Kanye has done just that with his version of the classic Lalo Schifrin theme, and we're thrilled to be working with him.
I'm sure he's thrilled to work with you too; he's even Jesus Walking.
And speaking of being thrilled, you know I gotta do it.
Here's some jewelry being dropped by EbenGregory on Kanye West penning the theme song for Mission Impossible III: I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and hook up with them later. Whatever that's about.
Btw, this is me.
