Kanye West seems to have a soft spot for Soulja Boy. For the second time in the past few months, Ye has put his self out there to stand up for the "Crank That" rapper against recent harsh criticisms of his music.

"How is Soulja Boy killing hip-hop?" Kanye shouted to the crowd at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (August 5). "He had one of the biggest songs of the summer. If anything, he's helping keep it alive. You don't have to be Lil Wayne in order for people to say your sh*t is fresh."

"Open y'all's f***in' minds. Be accepting of different people. Let people be who they are."
