It takes guts to go up against the face of hip hop, but with 1.3 million dollars at stake Chicago based rapper, Eric "E- Smoove', isn't backing down.
The beef started last August when West popped the DJ with a lawsuit claiming that Miller attempted to distribute 10 unreleased tracks recorded when West was 18 by using a faux contract on which he'd forged West's signature. Miller was banned also form using Kanye's name or voice in any commercial distribution connected with the recordings. Read more here.
Miller is now lashing back at the rapper with a countersuit, saying that he not only owns rights to the recordings but also co-wrote some of the tracks. It claims that Miller and West worked together during the mid-1990's, when they collaborated on such hits as "Ho!!!" and "Stop Frontin".
Miller hopes to get 10.5 million from the counter, which we know is pocket change for Kanye. West's attorney, Phillip Hoffman, told the Associated Press that "the countersuit has no merit, as there is no written contract explicitly authorizing his use of West's work or name."
It sounds like Miller feels like one of the little people that Kanye forgot on his way up. Either way they acquire the peace, fans just want those hits to release!
