Ja Rule was reprimanded by a Manhattan judge on May 27 because of his failure to appear in court last month due to being on tour in Germany. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Micki Scherer had forewarned Ja that he must check in when he got back to the U.S. "There was no excuse in my view for your absence [last month]," she said.

Although the judge agreed to let the Holiis-bred rapper out of the country again to perform in Russia, she said that Ja must give the court five days notice on any business trips he plans to take outside of the N.Y. metropolitan area.

Stacey Richman, Ja's attorney, pushed the blame on the people who planned the tour saying that they booked the dates by mistake.

In July of 2007, police stopped Ja's car on the upper West Side. They reportedly smelled marijuana and searched the car finding loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun in the rear driver's-side door. Ja Rule, his road manager, Dennis Cherry and his driver Mohamed Gamal were arrested. According to bail bondsman Ira Judelson, their high bails and bonds were secured by Ja's $3.5 million house in New Jersey.

Ja Rule's eighth studio album and Universal Records debut, "The Mirror," has been pushed back with no definitive release date in sight. The album included the singles "Body" and "Uh Oh" featuring Lil Wayne.
