Beef eaters seeking blood were sorely disappointed at New Jersey's Continental Airlines Arena this Thursday as they watched Nas and Jay-Z squash a long time feud. Of the show, hosted by New York's Power 105.1, Jay added "It's bigger than 'I declare war.' It's like the muthaf**kin' president presenting the United Nations. Let's go, Esco!"
The show, an awaited event after Jay's declaration, negated fans expectations and turned out to be somewhat of a peacefest. The two New Yorkers stood like the Twin Towers, cementing the end of 4 year fued by performing "Dead Presidents." Above a stunned crowd, Nas held that "we [are] savin' the East Coast with your help."
Kanye West Also performed a 15 minute set, entering the stage from below, performing tracks "Touch the Sky," "Heard Em' Say" and "Drive Slow" with Paul Wall from his "Late Registration Album." Other peacemaking performances included Memphis Bleek, T.I., Young Jeezy, Akon, Boyz N Da Hood, Teairra Mari, Ne-Yo and The Lox.
To end the show in style, West joined the new friends and Diddy in a p.h.a.t performance of Hova's "Encore". The monumental night, concluded with Jay's message to the audience: "We all in this s**t together," "Y'all witnessed history. Everybody in this building is a part of history. All that beef s**t is wack."
