Futurebirds's debut album, Hampton's Lullaby, has gotten some serious buzz since its release in July, and the guys have gathered a solid fan base by touring with fellow Athens band Dead Confederate, playing with Jonny Corndawg and raging stages at SXSW for the past couple years. With rockin' riffs and headbanging beats (a band you MUST see live), their songs definitely give off an indie vibe and have been compared to the likes of early My Morning Jacket and Kings of Leon. But with raw four-part harmonies, folky undertones and a pedal steel, you can't help but crave a rocking chair and a six-pack.

Roxwel got the chance to sit down with Futurebirds Thomas and Carter in an interview to talk about the camaraderie between fellow Athens bands, their process of writing songs and their experience at their first SXSW in 2010.
