Barely one week after Foxy Brown was released from New York's Riker's Island jail, the rapper was back in court, minus her lawyer.

Brown, born Inga Marchand, appeared in a Florida courtroom this morning for a status hearing on her pending assault case in the state stemming from a February 2007 altercation at a beauty supply. Furthermore she was also accused of spitting on the store employee and struggling with an officer who wanted to question her about the incident.

Foxy tried to work out a plea deal with the state attorney without the help of her lawyer. Brown´s attorney Fred Haddad officially resigned from the case because of "irreconcilable differences" with his client. The judge gave Brown two weeks to get a new attorney and return to court on May 8th.

Her new album "Brooklyn's Don Diva" is scheduled to be released on May 13.
