Geologically, color diamonds are between 30 and 1000 times rarer than the very finest white diamonds. All diamonds do indeed form the same way: as crystallized carbon, but colored diamonds usually are altered at the atomic level. An impurity in the lattice structure of the diamond creates the color.

The Jewelry Man has traced some colors to individual mines, others to specific regions. Pinks and blues have been found in Australia and Africa, yellows from Africa, red diamonds in Brazil and the natural green diamonds usually come from Botswana.

In "I wonder how long I can keep this pony show going" news, the homies over at VH1 have renewed Flavor Flav's reality series Flavor of Love, for another season.

The Jewelry Man is informed that VH1 has purchased ten one-hour episodes of the show in which the homey Flav searches for love while the whole world watches.

Here's executive producers Mark Cronin and Cris Abrego on why they cut Flav another check: After spending so much time with Flavor Flav on Surreal Life and Flavor of Love, we shared his frustration at not having found love. Thankfully, the success of the first season and Flav's popularity enables us to have a second chance at finding him the right woman.

Unfortunately for Flav, last season's winner Hoopz, gave him the boot after getting her fifteen minutes of fame. Let them tell it, their just friends. But hey, Flav's cool.they start taping the new season next month in Los Angeles. And speaking of paper.
