Motorhead - Overdose

"We intend to deafen you for the rest of our lives until we drop dead doing it."
That's Lemmy - aka Ian Fraser Kilmister of Motorhead - for ya, the straight-up, humble and super influential rock 'n' roll God who's been raging international stages for the past three-plus decades. And Roxwel was stoked and extremely lucky to interview the legend before the premiere of his documentary, Lemmy: The Movie, at SXSW 2010, and then get our faces properly rocked at his Stubb's show the next day.
As one fan puts it in a clip from the movie, "Rock 'n' roll is Lemmy. Lemmy is rock 'n' roll."

Being very flattered that directors/producers Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski sought him out for the film, Lemmy was also a bit shy about having his praises sung in public.
He says, "It's not too embarrassing. It is kind of embarrassing, but it's not over the top."
But as Orshoski says, "That is the heart and soul of the film though. It's that kind of stuff that matters to people. Because when he's vulnerable, he opens his world up a little."
And he opened up to us about the state of rock 'n' roll today:
"It's not that rock 'n' roll has just changed that much. It's the world around it that's changed...out of all recognition. I mean, it's like another planet from the '60s...It was a lot more fun than it is now. The politically correct...all these assholes. And these people are from my generation, and I'm ashamed of them. Some of these people were at f*cking Woodstock, you know what I mean? What happened to them? Money, that's what happened to them. Greed. Low-based venal greed."

And that's why you gotta love Lemmy even more. Not only does he give respect and live by the golden rule, but he's also the baddest mo-fo in the world.
"Without Lemmy, there'd be no Motorhead, there'd be no Metallica, no Megadeath, no Slayer, nothing," one fan in the movie says. "There wouldn't be any of the heavy metal we have today."
Thanks be to Lemmy!
