• Rapper DMX was arrested on Tuesday in Arizona (May 6) for driving down a Phoenix freeway at 114 mph with a suspended license. On January 21, the actor/rapper was photographed in his 1966 Chevy Nova II at a speed of 114 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone.

According to Reuters, DMX, born Earl Simmons was taken into custody and he was charged with racing on a highway, reckless driving, two counts of endangerment, three counts of criminal speed and driving with a suspended license. One day later (May 7), the 37-year-old rapper was released on bond.

"This is an important arrest," Roger Vanderpool Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety said in a statement. "Criminal speeding endangers the lives of everyone on the road. Mr. Simmons wasn't signaled out because of his notoriety, we have made several arrests in the last few months of those people who flagrantly violate the speed limit and therefore endanger the lives of everyone else on the road. The photo enforcement program on the Loop 101 is making a difference with safety out on the highway."

In related news, Sheriff Joe Arpaio told Phoenix news outlet KTAR, that eight month after a raid on DMX´s Crace Creek home, the Yonkers MC isn't off the hook just yet. Guns, drugs and dead animals were found during the raid after an anonymous tip to the sheriff office's was made.

"When I say I'm going to do something, I do it, okay? Some of you may think I do it just to get publicity and then hide," Arpaio told KTAR. "No, the DMX investigation is in full progress. Very soon, I will announce a resolution to that case."
