In "I'm glad Sony threw me a lifeline" news, DMX has parted ways with longtime label Def Jam and signed a new, three-album deal with Sony Urban. His new album, and first studio release in three years, "Here We Go Again," is expected for release this summer. So why did DMX leave Def Jam EbenGregory?

Here's DMX to Billboard on why he left Def Jam: I reached an impasse at Def Jam. I wasn't really happy there. Recording was like work. Plus, me current Def Jam president/CEO Jay-Z could not work together. We're both too big.

So you're too big huh? Well DMX is the only rapper to have all five of his studio albums debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and go multi-platinum. Plus, DMX has three movies in the works, including the indie film "The Last Hour" with David Carradine and Michael Madsen, as well as a reality TV series. Speaking of albums, DMX what can we expect from yours?

Here's DMX to Billboard on his new album: It's music I wouldn't even let my 13-year-old son listen to. It's not real. No one is saying anything. It's not rap, it's crap. There is no soul. I refuse to conform.

What? Looks like DMX still on that Kryptonite. You should have heard him talking on being feed up with the music business. Here's DMX on being feed up with the music business: I either wanted to kill someone, or myself.

    Kill somebody, oh really?

Here's some jewelry being dropped by EbenGregory on DMX signing wth Sony and still tripping of the Kryptonite: Anything tastes good when you are hungry because hunger is the best cook. Wonder if DMX will miss Def Jam's cooking?

PS, with DMX it's half as bad as you think.

  • In "Since my rap career is a wrap, I'm gonna get some TV money" news, my good friend Sticky Fingaz is set to play the blood sucking vampire Blade. Here's the skinny: Spike TV is set to bring "Blade", one of Hollywood's most successful theatrical franchises, to television.

Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones ("Over There") beat out Bokeem Woodbine for the lead role of "Blade." Jill Wagner ("Monk"), Neil Jackson ("Stargate SG-1"), Nelson Lee ("Traffic," the TV mini-series) and Jessica Gower ("Blurred") round out the cast for the tele-picture.

The "Blade" trilogy, which has earned more than $400 million worldwide, will be adapted into a two-hour original drama that marks the network's first foray into scripted entertainment. Produced by New Line Television, "Blade" premieres on Spike TV in June 2006.

Here's some jewelry being dropped by EbenGregory on Stick Fingaz playing Blade: A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives you roses. Sticky, you better hold on tight to them roses Spike TV gave you.
