Queens rap duo Capone and Noreaga have inked a recording deal with San Francisco-based independent label SMC Recordings.

With this new deal, CNN joins a growing roster of established artists including Atlanta based MC Killer Mike and Pastor Troy. The duo is now ready to follow up to their gold selling album "The Reunion".

According to SMC co-founder Ralph Tashjian, CNN will benefit from the freedom that comes with the label's independence. "We have the best of both worlds - the flexibility and connection to the streets of an independent label and the ability to reach the masses that major label distribution affords," Tashjian said.

SMC, which is distributed by Fontana/Universal, also handles the distribution for his Atlanta-based label, Grind Time Official.

There is currently no release date or title for the new album from Capone-N-Norega.
