Blastro Music Video Awards 2012: Best New Artist

Blastro is excited to announce the nominees for its annual Music Video Awards! We have seen hundreds of music videos from up-and-coming artists, music veterans and all artists in between, and we thought we would show some light on a few videos that really stood out this year. 

Blastro programmers have chosen videos that have been particularly successful with Blastro's audience and have placed them in four categories : Video Artist of the Year, Sexy Video of the Year, Best New Artist of the Year and Innovation Award. Winners will be selected by music fans. Voting for music fans will run from December 21, 2012 to December 28, 2012 through our Facebook and Twitter RT. The winners will be announced on January 3, 2013 .

The Best New Artist video nominees are artists who can spread themselves to audiences around the world. So without further ado, here are the nominees:

Ailee "I Will Show You"

Korean-American solo artist Ailee first garnered attention with her cover of Beyonce's "Halo" and her first two singles, "Heaven" and "I Will Show You", has topped the charts and winning awards in South Korea.  She originally got into singing by creating a YouTube channel called "aileemusic" when her friends told her she was a good singer. She moved to South Korea to pursue her career and be closer to her roots in 2010.

 Kayla Brianna "If You Love Me"

 Kayla Brianna, R&B darling and the industry's newest "girl next door" describes her music as "transitional music"  that speaks to young girls around the world who are in “transition.” Endorsed by music, entertainment, and sports heavyweights including George Lopez, Chris Rock, Ice Cube, and Kobe Bryant, Kayla B. is more than just a manufactured concept. 


 Royalty ft. Carlito "Brown Eyed Girl"

Born as a Peasant / Live as a King / Die as a God Royalty - "A person of a higher ranking, A person of Class & privilege" The definition explains it all when it comse to Royalty, and his accomplishments. He started off in the Lower-Middle Class of San Jose and built his fan base from the ground up on Myspace and garnered attention with hits like "Miss California Girl" and "Brown Eyed Girl".
