Here's The Jewelry Man on problems: Avoid problems, and you'll never be the one who overcame them. The Jewelry Man.telling you that a positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
In "Lawyers make it "Rain on Me'" news, the I wish Irv would hurry up and get the Murder Inc. distribution deal done so I can start making money off music again homey Ashanti has testified in a New York City court to defend herself against the former manager attempting to sue her for $2 million, claiming he launched her career.
Oh really EbenGregory.does this mean that there's far too much law for those who can afford it and far too little for those who cannot?
Yes.
The Jewelry Man is informed that lawyers for Genard Parker claim that a contract Ashanti signed in 1996, when she was 15, proves she owes him a $2.3 million share in the six million copies of her first three albums sold. A jury last year determined Ashanti broke her contract with Parker and awarded him $50,000, but Parker is seeking a much bigger cut, claiming he was not given his last paycheck or thanked for his help.
And now.Ashanti starring in, "What happened?"
Here's Ashanti on open court Monday (August 18) to the judge on what really went down with the contract signing: I was just a teenager following my dreams when I signed with Parker. Me and my mother went to his hoouse to work on some songs hoping to launch my career. Genard couldn't deliver for me and he signed a release permitting me to go to another record company.
Interesting.what's Ashanti's lawyer gotta say about that?
Here's Alan Cominsky, attorney for Ashanti, on why that deal was null and void: The deal between the pair, whereby Ashanti paid Parker some money from the sales of her first three records with the next record company, became invalidated because the company rejected her. Parker should receive no more than the $50,000.
That's nice.like knowing a lawyer will do anything to win a case, sometimes he'll even tell the truth. And speaking of give us free.
Here's some corner store bodega jewelry being dropped by EbenGregory on Ashanti fighting for money in court: Each success only buys an admission ticket to a more difficult problem. Besides, the point of living and of being an optimist is to be foolish enough to believe the best is yet to come.
