Will.I.Am has thanked Britney Spears for trusting his "instincts" when the pair collaborated.

The Black Eyed Peas singer wrote a track for the star, 'The Big Fat Bass,' during a flight from Japan to Los Angeles, and thanked her for allowing him to have a free reign in creating the song.

He tweeted: "Thank you Britney for collaborating it was a pleasure working with you. Thank you for trusting my instincts. You're a doll. I hope your Britney army likes it as much as we do."

The duo also worked together on another track for Britney's upcoming 'Femme Fatale' album, which he recently described as "a banger."

will tweeted: "In the studio with @britneyspears today. We recorded another song for #femmefatale. that's 2 bangers (sic)."

However, the rapper isn't the only star keen to collaborate with Britney, as Nicki Minaj recently admitted the 'Womanizer' hitmaker is the only other artist she would consider working with.

She said: "I'm done with collaborations. No more collabs for the next two years. Although, Britney's a snatch like me and she's cute. Yes. We might do something."

'Femme Fatale' will be released on March 29.

Justin Bieber is asking fans to donate to charity to celebrate his 17th birthday today.

The 'Baby' hitmaker has implored his fans to give 17 dollars to Charity: Water in order to raise $17,000 for clean water in developing countries.

Writing on his Charity: Water page, he said: "Together, we've made a big difference for many causes. Did you know that about 4,500 kids die each day from waterborne disease? By building clean water projects for villages that need them, we can prevent this! I want to make my birthday matter this year - let's make it so more kids can grow up to have a 17th birthday like me. Join me to make a change.

"I'm really so grateful for my family, friends and fans - and I believe we can do something big to help bring clean water to people in need. Even if you don't have $17 to give I just ask you to go out in your community and try and make a positive difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can go a long way. Thanks and God Bless! #makeachange."

Last night Justin stepped out in public for the first time with Selena Gomez, who he is reportedly dating.

The pair - who were spotted in a photo booth kissing and cuddling at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party - even matched their outfits for the occasion, with 18-year-old Selena in a floor-length red dress while Justin wore a suit with a red pocket handkerchief.

Lady Gaga will be Godmother to Sir Elton John and David Furnish's baby boy, Zachary.

Film producer David let slip in a recent interview that the couple are lining up the eccentric singer to play an important role in the life of their two-month-old son, who was born on Christmas Day via a surrogate mother.

When asked about rumors they would choose Gaga by Canadian website, he replied: "We haven't publicly confirmed that yet but your sources are very good!

"I prefer not to comment on it because we are going to make a statement about Godparents later on."

Elton and Gaga struck up a friendship after performing together at the Grammy Awards in 2010, and David further praised the singer - who composed her latest track 'Born This Way' about social inclusion and has called it a "gay anthem" - for her broad-mindedness and personal connection to her fans.

He said: "She's all about inclusiveness and tolerance. She believes that you can be whoever you want to be and that we don't have to live in a world of conformity and that we can all benefit from individuality.

"That's the best message in the world. The freedom to be who you are, do what you want and love who you want to love."

David, 48, also explained how this message is what he feels makes Gaga an ideal role model for Zachary.

He added: "Elton and I don't talk about what we hope Zachary grows up to be - musician, doctor or whatever. We just hope he grows up to be happy and that he's able to do what he wants to do in life and has the freedom to take whatever path."

David is a Godparent himself, to Elizabeth Hurley's eight-year-old son Damian, while Elton is Godfather to Victoria and David Beckham's eldest two sons, Brooklyn, 11 and eight-year-old Romeo.

Nicki Minaj no longer knows who her friends are.

The 26-year-old rapper has started to doubt the motives of her pals since finding fame and has no idea who she can or can't trust anymore.

She said: "I'm not a trusting person. I think it's because I've had to deal with so many people letting me down.

"I've lost my peace of mind. I no longer know who's my friend or my enemy. I don't know if they're calling me because they like me or because they want a photo op, and that's not a good feeling. I'm always second-guessing everyone, trying to figure out, 'Who is this person, and what do they want from me?' "

The 'Massive Attack' singer explained one of the reasons why she struggles to trust her friends was she was recently invited to a pal's house, only for three strangers to come in and ask her to sign their CDs.

She told BlackBook magazine: "I wasn't expecting that from one my closest friends."

Despite her frustration, Nicki insists she is still happy to be famous, though she has learned to appreciate that being valued for her work is more important than being recognised.

She said: "I've always wanted fame. But when I achieved fame, I started realising that it wasn't as important as being great at what you do, or being critically acclaimed. Still, I never wish I wasn't famous."
