Houston, TX, November 3, 2009 - Houston's top urban outlet KBXX-FM 97.9 The Box has taken a stance towards unity by paying homage to the culture of hip-hop with a "Best of Texas" theme at this year's annual Los Magnificos Custom Car Show & Concert, Sunday, November 23rd at Reliant Center in Houston.
The 2008 line-up will make history as "The Best of Texas" themed show will bring every major Texas hip-hop recording artist to the same stage on the same day; celebrating something that's never been accomplished before - a day of unity and peace in Houston's hip-hop community.
This historic day will feature performances by artists who have made profound contributions on the national hip-hop scene including Grammy award winner Chamillionaire, along with Grammy nominated Bun-B (UGK) and platinum selling artists such as Paul Wall & Mike Jones, as well as Slim Thug, Lil KeKe, Trae, Z-Ro, ESG Lil O, Damm D, Big Pokey, Fat Pimp, The Botany Boyz, Lil Wil with more to be announced.
This show will go "deep in the heart of Texas" with the Geto Boys being presented wtih the coveted Pioneer Award. The event will recognize the contributions of the Screwed Up Click, Swisha House, WreckShop and Rap-A-Lot families, both past and present.
