How to Tag a Video

Can’t find that video showcasing that electrifying Les Paul? Or maybe you’re not that into guitars, but gawd, that guy rocking out with the nose ring sure was hot! If only you could find that video again…

With Blastro’s tagging feature, you can! All you have to do is tag anything and everything that strikes you about a particular video (e.g., “Love”, “kiss”, “motorcycle”, “hot guy”, etc.) while you’re watching it. Just click “Add a Tag” in the box below the video player, and a text box will pop up, in which you can type out as many comma-separated tags (i.e., descriptive words or phrases separated by commas) as you like.

Why do all this? Well, it’s a search tool. Let’s say you come back to the site looking for a particular video but can’t for the life of you remember the artist, song or album title. Instead of browsing through thousands of videos and maybe still not finding it, you can search with your tags. Just type in a word or phrase that you (or someone else) tagged a video with and the page will populate with videos related to your search—be it by song or album title, artist, or, you got it, tags!

You may still have to sort through some videos on this page before you find that hot guy with the nose ring rocking out on the Les Paul, but this tool will incredibly reduce your time spent searching. Happy tagging!
