I already have two tickets bought to Lollapalooza, but some stuff came up recently so I do not have enough money to go this year. If I win I will give my two tickets to someone else for free(instead of trying to sell them). If I win not only will I get to go for free, but someone that I know will get two free tickets to Lollapalooza. I wonder if this is a random drawing or if someone actually reads these and makes a decision. When I click on the terms and conditions it doesn't say anything except terms and conditions lol. Wonder if that is a bug or if that is telling me something =).

My best friend & I really need these tickets! We're huge fans of nearly all of the artists performing (but especially Lady Gaga, Green Day, & Stars!), and would love to have this chance to enjoy great music & a beautiful city. In fact we we're hoping to make it our vacation for the summer, but since we're both working college students, we simply don't think we're going to have enough money to go. Please help us Blastro!

Please, please, pick me. 1) you would not have to buy our flights because we are local to Chicago. 2) you would be making the dreams of 4 people come true with just your two tickets. I'll explain. I am a music lover and also the mom of two very cool little boys. We took them to Lollapalooza last year (just one day passes) and it was one of the best days we've ever had. The only thing my boys want to do this year is go to Lollapalooza again. What's more...there favorite band is headlining. There are a lot of acts that I would want to see, but my young sons are OBSESSED with Green Day. I mean, crazy, all the words, non-stop Green Day. My sons are 3 and (almost) 5. This is not a fad for them. It is the second birthday in a row that the only requests have been Green Day related. I am searching everywhere and asking everyone I can think of to find a way to get my boys to the Green Day show. I am good with letting them stay up for a headline show, I just desperately need to find a way to get special access so I can safely bring my kids to watch their heroes on stage. They watch youtube videos of GD and practice their rock star moves. I am not going to lie. We are not wealthy people (my husband is an electrician and I raise our two young boys) it would be such a blessing for my husband and I to get VIP passes to Lolla. We cherish live music and this greatest gig in Chicago. But, on Saturday, it would be a life changer for my boys if I could get them to a safe viewing spot to see Green Day. I hope you will consider us. Big hugs just for reading this far. xoxo ariella

I've been waiting for the line-up to come out for Lollapalooza this year since last year. I heard some speculations and when it was finally announce, I was ecstatic. I've been dying to see Green Day; it would be EPIC. This would be the highlight of my year because I feel like things have been falling apart in my life. Things have just been really hard for me and I'm just beginning to get back up on my own two feet again. Beside that, I have a friend who's been really helping me get through the mess I've been in. I'd love to bring him with to thank him for all that he's done for me. He means a lot and I really appreciate all that he's done, so beside getting a really fun trip for myself to relieve some stress, I can also express how much he means to me. It seriously would be the trip of a lifetime.

I have always wanted to attend more than anything but something has always prevented me. Currently, its that I cannot afford to go. I have just completed college and have loans and payments starting to overwhelm me because I don't have a full-time job lined-up yet. I'm also one of my only friends that has never been to Chicago (living in mpls) and I want nothing more than to be able to celebrate my best friend's birthday with her there.

My hometown Chicago has the best music festival! The best city, the best music, the best friends! Make my summer complete by getting me into Lollapalooza. No flights or hotels needed. I just want to be a part of the festival I don't want to miss this summer in my hometown!

The first time I went to this festival was in 1995 when I was a sophmore in high school at the World Music Theater. I feel very fortunate being exposed to the music on the bill that year at such a young age and was excited that they decided to bring it back so I could relive it and introduce the new generation to great music. Since then, the big act has moved a couple hundred yards from my front door and it has been a consistent annual tradtion since moving to Chicago. However, times are rough and it would be to hard to bear not to go to this magnificent festival less than a mile from my home so please pick me. No hotel or flight necessary. Just a means to get in so I can get down in my hometown! Thank you!

Lollapalooza will fall on the anniversary of me beating cancer last year, it was a tough time filled awful memories of chemotherapy and being sick as a dog. i would love to celebrate with thousands of music fans dancing, laughing and having a great time under the Chicago sun. Perry has been a musical insperation to me for years. I was at the very first Lollapalooza years ago, and i would like to see what the evnt has evolved into. Thanks for the chance of possibly winning such a great and special prize. HAve fun everybody and be safe...... DUB

I would also love love love to cover this festival in my blog and it would only help me in my career of music blogging. Errgg and I'm a huge fan of Cut Copy and I promise you, I'll be dancing the whole weekend away. I would take advantage of the weekend to the fullest and make sure that everyone around me was having an amazing time. I think I'd cry if I won.

I deserve to win because I have never been to a Lollapolooza. I am trying to get back on my feet after losing my job as my Christmas present in 2009. I got denied unemployment... my heater went out in my home at that time too! I had such a rough few months, the house was hit by lightening as well. Last year was SUPER CRAZY and I am still just struggling to survive. This would be an amazing blessing to win. I would be over the moon!!!

Last year was my first Lolla experience but I only was able to attend one day. :( But it was EPIC. I have worked Bonnaroo the past 3 years, so I was never able to actually enjoy 85% of the shows or experience. This year I'd like to surprise my brother (who bought my ticket to Lolla last year) with these AWESOME VIP tickets!! He is such a great kid and deserves them! He is a hardworking smart kid (nothing but Dean's list. I don't have the money to buy them for him, so I am trying to win them! I assure you we will be the LOUDEST, CRAZIEST and the MOST fun fans out there if you pick me!! Also, Lady Gaga is my absolute favorite and I would be so sad to miss her perform! I've been to Lollapalooza every year since 2006, and I will do whatever it takes to go this year. I recently lost my job and literally broke my hand the next day. The problem is that I was not covered by health insurance so I basically had to pay for it out of my own pocket, leaving me hardly any funds for my usual Lollapalooza excursion. In the past, I have always brought a new person each year so that they can understand and appreciate why I go to Chicago every year for what I consider to be the greatest music festival of the summer. Hopefully, I can continue the tradition!

This year's Lollapalooza line up is so awesome!I have been once before in 2008 and had the best time! I have been wanting to go again but it is very expensive, and I am a college student without a job. It would be an amazing opportunity to win tickets and a trip to Chicago. I would bring my boyfriend with me because he has never been to a large music festival like this. We are both huge fans of many of the artists that are playing this year, but we don't get to see a lot of concerts because we live in Ohio and very few bands play here. Please pick me for lolla tickets so I can share this amazing experience with my boyfriend!

My friend and I went to Coachella this year. We're from Michigan. The main reason we went was to see MUTEMATH. They performed on a Sunday and we waited all weekend to see them. Sunday came, we were on our way to the event and got caught in all the traffic. Much to our bitter disappointment, we parked our car *just* as they were walking off the stage. We traveled from Michigan to California to see our favorite band perform...and missed them. EPIC FAIL. We really REALLY want to see them play. If we won this contest, we would be the two happiest girls on earth. We don't know when they're coming back to MI (they missed the last Michigan show they were scheduled for :-/). Lollapalooza is our last chance to see them perform before they get back into the studio. Please consider giving us the VIP tickets. Words cannot describe what it would mean to us. Thank you.

I live in North Dakota...do you know what that means??? NO CONCERTS....that are considered concerts....like SoundGarden!! The winter was horrific and we had just moved from CA 9 months ago to be closer to family. I knew i was going to have to give up my concerts..but this is fricking ridiculous!!! I'm shaking and going through withdrawals and would love nothing better than being at Lollapalooza to see my all time favorite band!! Would make me the happiest lady in the world :) Thank you for listening to me vent. I'm done :)

Every year I look at the lollapalooza page and I die when i see the lineups. Everytime I've looked, at least 20 of my favorite bands are playing. And, every year, I can't go. I dont have a car, or any money, so the transportation, lodging and especially tickets for lollapalooza are out of the question. My parents never want me to go alone to a concert, and my friends never have money either. Because of this, I've never been to a concert in my whole life. If I won VIP passes-meaning id be in a safe VIP area with a friend at the concert, my parents would actually let me go. Please please please consider me as a winner, I'd be SOO grateful!
Hopefully you feel for me and choose me as the winner :D hahaha

I've never been anywhere in my life. Never been on an airplane, never been to Chicago and this might be by last chance to go to Lolla since they stopped touring it in 2003. Soundgarden being there is just icing on this wonderful cake you call a contest. Its the right move, gimme that chance.

I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Soundgarden fan & saw Soundgarden/Chris Cornell 18 times in as many years! Chris is my all-time favorite singer, and Soundgarden was the band I always wanted when I was younger - it was a revelation when I discovered them. Never thought they would get back together and am DYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYINNGGGGGG to see them again! I can't afford the travel costs to go to Chicago (from Southern CA), otherwise I would be there already! PRAYING they do a full-on tour and come out to the West Coast in case I don't win this contest!

Okay I know everyone thinks they deserve to win this, and maybe they do. My friend and I need this for many reasons, first off I've never been to a concert. Out here in Arizona we are so deprived of good music! I know Arizona has been getting a lot of negative attention lately, and in effect many bands and artists have decided to boycott our state! My friend and I both work and go to college and we really haven't had a chance to enjoy ourselves for about 2 years now. We can't afford to get to Chicago on our own all the way from Arizona, so obviously winning this would be great! Words would not be able to explain how happy we'd be. My friend loves Arcade Fire and she has never seen them live before, and she thinks she never will. She has checked the tour dates and the closet they are getting to Arizona is Tennessee! So needless to say, she is feeling a little down. She has no idea that I'm doing this, and I'd love to be able to surprise her with this! It'd would literally be the best gift I could give her. So please consider my entry to be the chosen one. Thank You

I don't know if I deserve to win this contest any more than anyone else, but I sure would LOVE too! Live music and concerts have been a big part of my life, but unfortunately I haven't been able to afford to go many the past 10 years; both financially and time availability have been very lean... I have been working my ass off, going to grad school, living in a basement, and being there for everyone else instead of guiltily going to rock shows. It is something that happens, when you are no longer 20. Now I am 40 and I want to do something for me. A fabulous gift for all the sacrifices and hard work I have put in over the years. But, since I am a teacher, and work with teenagers who are dealing with more **** than you could possibly imagine, I can not say in good conscious that I deserve to win more than anyone else. But I can say that I tend to give 150% to everyone all the time and it would be nice to have some kick ass fun just for me. This years Lollapalooza has the most amazing lineup EVER, I would give anything to have the chance to go. Thanks for the consideration...keep Rockin'!

The reason I deserve to win this contest is that I am the most supportive and hardest rocking Soundgarden fan on the planet. Winning the tickets would mean a great deal to me but my 12 year old son would be ecstatic and forever appreciative to Roxwel. He is the one who turned me on to this website to begin with. He is a great fan of Chris Cornell and Audioslave but Soundgarden is his all time favorite, not quite the norm for his age group. I've always listened to Soundgarden even when he was in the womb he was constantly bombarded with Soundgarden songs as I would often stay up all night learning and rehersing SG songs until the break of day while his mother would try her best to sleep through it. He has always sang along with their music and knows the words to their entire catalog, If he was able to see them it would be a dream come true for him and me as well. If we win the tickets you will definetely know we were at the show!!!! Soundgarden Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Best rock band of all time

Hmmm...Why do I deserve to win? Well, let's see. First and foremost I am a music lover. Since my past lives. Nearly all genres, even out-there 'world' music and stuff. So that's big. Soundgarden has always been a favorite (actually any Chris project) but I've never seen them live. I go to a lot of concerts, but my Last Lolla was in '94. I love to travel, but have never been to Chicago (it's on the wish list right under Hawaii and NYC). I need all those wonderful VIP amenities that were described, because I'm kind of a puss when it comes to heat and standing and crowds. In fact that's the main reason I avoid big shows these days - I've apparently developed a bit of an anxiety disorder. Anyway, its been a rotten year. I've lost my job because of the economy, my small business is not enough to get me by, I just sold a bunch of my stuff (including my keyboard and one guitar) today in a garage sale, just to make rent and bills for June. So there's that. My 13 year-old daughter doesn't like following rules or care to be respectful, so she called CPS and told them that I beat her in the face with a belt then threatened to kill her frog. Fortunately, they called her BS, but now I have to get her mental health evaluated and go to counseling and all this unnecessary (and expensive) stuff that I wouldn't have to do if she'd just behave. Kids these days! So there's that, too. Oh, yeah, here's a reason! My 'friend' was supposed to buy me Lady Gaga tickets in exchange for watching her 3 sick kids for a week, but I'm sure you get where that is going. :( Oh, and my roommate/best friend has been stringing me along for over 2 months now, waiting for this big check she's supposed to get, borrowing money from my credit cards all the while. Up to almost $2000 now. So, there's also that. My daughter's Dad (my ex) is the big Soundgarden fan in the family, and I have been wanting very much to reunite with him as more than just friends, and I think this trip could really help make that happen, maybe help our whole family reunite! That may be wishful thinking, but who knows?
Look, I am an awesome person. I help others first, even if I am in need myself. I'm very honest, loyal, trustworthy and have good morals and values. Rarely do I get a good break, RARELY. But the tarot card reading I had the other day said that there was an 'adventure or escapade' in my near future. So maybe I'll finally get what I deserve for a change - someone doing something amazing and generous and kind for me. Wouldn't that rock!?

I just moved to the city again, and I've been the happiest I have been in the last three years, after an extremely difficult time. Winning this would be almost like a celebration for myself. I have been a Soundgarden fan since I was 14 years old - and have been a HUGE fan of everything Chris has done! I bought tickets to see his solo show for the Euphoria Morning tour in upsate NY and the day of the show I went to work - upon leaving work to head to the show my truck caught on fire - well needless to say I never made it and I still have the tickets that I framed along with a picture of my burned up truck. Ya know how most of us have a to do list before we die - well seeing Soundgarden has always been on my list and it could finally happen if I could just get there from Upstate NY :) Good luck to all that enter !! SOUNDGARDEN ROCKS - CHRIS ROCKS - hope he sings at least one tune from Euphoria Morning - would love to hear Pillow Of Your Bones live, what an awesome song!!!!

I am the biggest Soundgarden fan on the planet! I would just like to shake hands with the musical genius, Mr. Cornell and of course the rest of the Garden. There is no other music out there as intelligent as Cornells, his lyrics are amazing, the groove unmatched, and the vocals, well you tell me who comes close? who else on earth could've made " Billy Jean" such a cool song? Soundgarden was/is a legend that will live on as long as there is music on this earth, there's not many of those bands out there. Chris Cornell is just a freaking Bad*ss Genius. Long Live Soundgarden.

I love the arcade fire, the strokes, and soundgarden!!!! and lady gaga would be pretty cool to see live. But the real reason I should win?? Frightened Rabbit rarely tours outside of Europe, the soft pack never leave socal, and i've never been able to find a live harlem show!!! i don't live in any of these places, a chance to see the big guys, but the rarer little guys as well, would be huge!!!!!

Let's see...Back in March, 2010, I was a successful restaurant manager with a lot of potential...I have 2 little kids and an awesome husband...my wonderful mom was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer...I am 1 of 5 kids and I ended up leaving my beautiful neighborhood and 2500 sq ft home to help my mom run her gas station in a small community in Grand Ronde, OR...all I can say is whata lifestyle change and what a culture shock...my husband and I have been here and making the best of a small town, where you have to drive 30 or so miles to get to a decent movie theater or even grocery shopping...we love Chris Cornell and Soundgarden and we were upset that they played up in Seattle a while back under the anonymous name, Nude Dragons...so a trip to Chicago and a chance to see Soundgarden live would be such a nice change of what we are going through today...love you mom, you're gonna kick cancer in the ass!!!

I attended the very 1st lollapalooza and was heartbroken when Mr. Farrell took it away from So. Cal. I am a huge Chris Cornell and Soundgarden band, I've been following him since the Loud Love days. What better way than to see them reunited in the "Windy City" which I've never been to. Yes this would be awesome.

What can I say? I am forever a grunge girl. Unfortunately during the high period of the grunge era, I was struggling financially working double shifts at a chain of bars owned by the same individual. Although I was living paycheck to paycheck and was unable to afford to attend popular venues such as Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Lollapalooza; I was able to enjoy the songs of this genre not only loud but with on a high quality sound system as well. This experience alone is the only reason why I have no regrets working the club scene. My best friend, on the other hand, was able to see Soundgarden three times which included Lollapalooza. Not a day goes by where I wish I could have made it possible to attend a Lollapalooza event.

I've been a fan of Soundgarden since the beginning. They changed my taste in music as a breath of fresh air in the stifling glam-rock atmosphere of the 80's. When they broke up, I was devastated. I had never got the chance to see them in concet. To see them back together would be the pinnacle of my music experience.

I love music!!! I haven't had a vacation in five years. I love music!!! I am a single mom who works six days a week and I love my kids but I also love music!!! I don't have the extra cash to fly to Chicago and buy tix for Lolla 2010 but I would totally appreciate the chance to attend and would consider it an honor and privilege to have an opportunity to make this happen...

I attended Lollapalooza '93, but had to leave before Primus or Alice in Chains came on because it was so hot and I had ran out of water and money to buy water. I lost 6 pounds that day from sweating in the hot sun and didn't even get to see my favorite band. Please let me attend another one and make better Lollapalooza memories :):):) Thanks! I think you should send me to Lollapalooza because music is absolutely my life, so I'm dead serious when I say I would die for the opportunity to have my face melted in the Windy City. I've never even been to Chicago! I'm from Texas, and Chicago is somewhere I've always wanted to visit, and this lineup is amazing (right after Glastonbury's lineup, of course). So yeah, I could go on and on about how awesome I am and how much I'd like to go to Lolla, but instead I'm just going to ask nicely: please give me this awesome opportunity?

Lolla's 1, 2, and 3 were my concert teeth cutting exploding my musical horizons into dozens of bands I still follow to this day. having been one of the few to see Chris Cornell & Eddie Vedder sing Temple of the Dog songs on the side stage in the exhibition era, I would love to be there again for Soundgarden reunion.

I deserve to win because it's my 40th birthday August 3rd and my brother's 42nd birthday on the 6th. We always travel to shows, including the old Lollas back in Miami in the early 90s. We have always wanted to see Soundgarden, wasn't it nice of them to reunite for our birthdays?!? Even if we don't win thanks for giving deserving folks the chance to win. My last Lolla was 2006...I'll be there this year if we win or not:)

Also, I love the Black Keys 7 so many other bands playing Lollapalooza and so does my 16 year old son. We would be forever grateful!

Lollapalooza opened my eyes to music for this first time last year. Most of my time was spent doing other things before then, regretfully. Since then music has been as much a part of my life as anything, and I can't get enough of it. I have silently vowed myself never to miss a Lollapalooza...no matter what. However, my financial restraints have in somewhat of a bind. I was getting ready to purchase my tickets for this year when I found out my car needs thousands of dollars of work done to it. Need a car to get to work, and don't have money lying around to pay it and go to Lolla. My brother will be devastated if I can't make it with him this year...because, like me, his eyes were opened to music at the '09 Lolla. I've already spent DAAAAYYYS listening to all of this year's artists, and got my hopes up and everything. You have absolutely no idea how happy it would make me to my brother and I VIP tickets to our favorite event of the year....HANDS DOWN! We passed on Coachella, Sasquatch, and Bonnaroo for Lollapalooza because we knew it would be a blast again. I HAVE to see Phoenix, The Strokes, The Black Keys, Grizzly Bear, Yeasayer, Wolfmother, Mute Math, METRIC, Dirty Projectors, The xx, The Temper Trap, Minus the Bear, Wild Beasts, The Big Pink, Freelance Whales, Dan Black, My Dear Disco, Wolfgang Gartner, Empire of the Sun, Erol Alkan, and Felix Da Housecat. Most of those artists won't even step foot here in Kansas City!!

The Black Keys !! I discovered a lot of my favorite music at Lolla and am desperate to find some new gems. Also, my boyfriend will SO be in my debt if I take him to see Gogol Bordello. Pleeease ?? :)

MUSIC is what makes me the happiest even though i can't play a single instrument. I deserved to win because everything i've done this year has gone sooo wrong, seriously, this hasn't been my year, so going to Lollapalooza would fix everything.
I don't know if residents from outside the United States can participate. We never have awesome festivals here in Mexico, like in other countries, so it would be a pretty cool experience if i could go and see some of my favorite bands there. Like the strokes, i'm dying to see them live. So please pick me!

Oh my gosh to the judges of this contest-
Hi! I'm Jill. Vegetarian, friendly, fan, and music enthusiast. PLEASE choose me to attend- going to this concert expenses paid would mean the WORLD to me. I'm a very hard worker in school in NJ and my mom and I really want to take a trip together and would be able to with the help of this contest. MGMT is my all time favorite band- I have been a committed fan since the day they emerged and have followed their music through both albums- it is SO inspiring to me and AH TO GO SEE THEM IS BASICALLY WHAT I DREAM ABOUT EVERY NIGHT. I started shaking when I read the lineup- it is SO perfect and through this, I would ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO GO TO A LIVE CONCERT that combines ALL MY FAVORITES, it would be the highlight of my family's summer, I count down the days. I'm ACTUALLY quivering right now with the thought of being in the audience and seeing CHICAGO. I'm part of numerous fan clubs hoping for a break in which i might be able to go, but I think this is my only shot. I am CONSTANTLY listening to mgmt, matt & kim, and my mom is equally inspired by their music. I'd be on my feet all day constantly feeling the music. It's the 4th dimension on my life- I get ancy in school when I cannot listen to "electric feel" or "flash delrrium" or even "knife" by grizzly bear.
I tend to tear up when I listen to truly moving music, and the artists attending Lollapalooza this year mean the world to me, without their music, I think life would be extremely different, and I might not have been able to recover from the hardest of times.
I have never been, but I hope to view the awesome building of chicago while being surrounded with blasting music from every direction, while I watch my favorite artists giving their soul to thousands of fans, and to thank you and God for giving me such a lifechanging, spine-chilling opportunity. Please don't pass me up- it would my mom and I to spend some needed time together while enjoying our favorite music. I'll start making an awesome tshirt I can wear to show my support for every musical group attending.
In the short tapings I have seen and everything that I have read on the internet describing MGMT's live performances, everyone claims that the music just physically MOVES you. Blastro, their music moves me at HOME- I can't imagine what it would do to me in person. I would chant every word with all the air in my lungs, making it a summer to remember. I think I would talk about it for years, and look back on this experience when sharing my lifestory.
I hope you read this, I hope I don't just count as a number- because numbers tend to be difficult. I don't want to be a number, because I have passion and a heart, and dreams that you can make come true!
Thank you for this amazing opportunity, it's an amazing chance, PLEASE have me take pictures and segments from the whole trip and concert to represent the happiness that blastro & Lollapalooza has created. here goes! time to "add comment" before you stop reading! [:

I live in Lincoln, Maine where there is absolutely no hope of getting to a kick ass concert without driving at least three hours and hassling with the insanity of hotels and traffic (not that it isn't worth it for great music). I haven't been to a concert in 2 years because there is no extra time and no extra money. As a teacher, I expose my students to all kinds of killer rock as that is how it should be! Winning this trip would be a dream come true for me. So, in the immortal words of Donkey from Shrek, "Pick me, Pick me!"

Life is a series of test we must take...no we're not prepared for some, but we learn from the experiences we encounter as we go along; we have to apply the knowledge we gain from past experiences to future ones so we may deal with each one better than the previous. Experience we gain/encounter while traveling through life's journey is the best teacher and practice makes us prepared (NOT perfect) for things to come.
You know when you're in school and no matter how many assignments/how much homework you get, you're constantly tested; The format of testing may change, but your knowledge will be persistenly called into question to see how much you've really learned, if you've been paying attention to the lessons taught.

i would love to go because 1) i am a HUGE Lady Gaga fan! I cry everytime I listen to "Speechless" because she is so in touch with her emotions. 2) I've been having such crappy luck with everything in my life and it would be so amazing to see her and put a smile on my face. Between a job where my boss treats me awful and getting into a minor fender bender and not having money to pay for anything because of that, among other debt, and especially not being able to see her perform in Philly on my birthday in Sept, it would mean the world to me. I just can't express how much seeing her perform at least once would make me. My boyfriend tried to get me tickets and he couldn't afford them either.........Lady Gaga has been an inspiration to me ever since I first listened to her. Between her voice, style, and good deeds, she is an amazing role model for women everywhere.

I would love to score these tix because my girlfriend just moved here (Denver) from Chicago. We have very similar music tastes and she occasionally gets homesick. What would be better than saying 'Honey we can go to Lollapalooza VIP in Chicago' I think that would make me a Rock Star with her!

I want to win because I'm a BIG fan of Lady Gaga,I have a low income and I can't afford to buy tickets for when she comes to the Detroit area, and I haven't seen a concert in two years-last one I saw was Christina Aguilera. Please consider me,I would be so thenakful!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Honestly, reading the other contestants comments are boring. I have to win because 1) I'm a music enthusiast 2)I'm funny and have a great personality 3) I'm not reckless and responsible 4)I want to experience every act and performance that Lollapalooza has to offer! 5) If I win or lose I'd still be grateful that I had a chance to enter this concert.

I commented earlier, but I did not know we were supposed to leave a comment about why we should win. My bad lol.
Well, I was going to go to Lolla in '08, but I couldn't pay for even a one-day ticket. Usually, I don't have enough each year, but I find a way to check out what happened and how the artists played. I'll be leaving for college next year, so this may be my last chance to go to Lollapalooza. I hope that my first [and maybe last] lollapalooza will happen.
Thanks, and good luck to everyone else :D

When Soundgarden was at Rolling Stone Records for Badmotorfinger I gave a Cubs hat to Chris Cornell and He signed the front of a Screaming Life Ep Tape. That night I made a fake pass out of it and tried to get backstage. Security said thats preety good kid, but no luck. That show was C.O.C. Danzig and Soundgarden. I haven't seen them live since High School late 80's.

I should win the tickets because Soundgarden rocks, and seeing them in concert is one of the very few items left on my concert agenda. The economy has me down, there's no way I can afford a cross country trip to see them. The other bands will be cool to see, but I still blast Badmotorfinger, Superunknown and Down on the Upside while I'm driving down the road, seeing Soundgarden would be a dream come true. bands today, they just don't make music like that anymore.

I've always wanted to go to Lollapalooza but never been able to go. Back when Devo appeared on Square Pegs and I was a devoted devolved man from the land of Peekaboo...I've been wanting to see spuds in action. If you let me win, it will make me very happy. It will make me very happy. We must repeat. I'll stick a fork in a toaster. I'll jamm a crickle-cut french fry into a frosted doughnut. I'll put the gun on erase and rearrange their face. I'm willing to be a young alien type who steps out and dares to declare, "I love DEVO" and I want to be at this show. I might ad, I like explosions.

Last time I saw Soundgarden was at the 2nd Lollapalooza (1992) in Orlando, FL. Hurricane Andrew was rapidly approaching and people were told not to head south. Anyway, I scraped and clawed my way up to damn near the front row, and the boys were rockin' hard. A sea of people were pushing and slamming, and almost lost my shoes a number of times. It was frickin' awesome. But shortly into the set, Chris did a stage dive into the crowd and it took him quite awhile to get back out. Not sure if somebody ****** him off, but the band wrapped up pretty quickly after that. Sure would love to see a full show with Soundgarden headlining. My first time seeing them left me needing more.

Soundgarden is one of my all time favorite bands. I never got to see them play back in the day. In fact, I've never had the opportunity to attend Lollapalooza. When Soundgarden split in the 90's I told myself that if they ever did a reunion tour I would certainly go see them. My wife is a huge fan of Gaga (and rocks out too Soundgarden). We weren't planning on budgeting a vacation this year so to win this contest would make our summer vacation dreams come true!

I had tickets to Soundgardens last tour and they broke up before they came to Boston. I have seen them twice before. The first time at Lollapalooza when they ripped down the wall and started fires in Mansfield. If I could only see them live one more time. Chris Cornell has done more for rock music than any artist in the past twenty years and Soundgarden is the best thing he has ever done. It would be a privilege to see Soundgarden at Lollapalooza once again....Please give me tickets since I can not afford the plain tickets. If I was close enough I would have bought tickets already. And would not be doing this.

Because of Devo. I have been de-volving with them for decades, now, and wish to continue to do so in the fine city of Chicago, which as we all know was once the hog-butcher of the world at their world-famous stockyards. Plus, I could make a side trip to Murphy's Bleachers and devolve even more. So, yeah, devolving, butchery and beer. There are the reasons.

Soundgarden has been a serious part of the soundtrack to my adult life... I'm a HUGE fan. My now husband and I bonded (with each other) and made lifelong friends with people who spoke little English when we were teaching English in the Czech Republic. The common interest: Soundgarden. Music is a cultural bridge.
When we returned to the U.S. we coincidentally ended up in Seattle for 7 years... it was just after the heyday of its music scene but the indie rock vibe lives on as does the music of soundgarden. We've been to the naval testing area "the soundgarden" to walk where they've walked... we've partied in many of the clubs where they've performed.
I've made sure my two daughters KNOW Soundgarden and it's part of my "Rock History" quiz game I play with them when the radio is on. My 7-year-old can identify Soundgarden most of the time and my 11 year old gets the song and band in fewer than 10 notes...
We live in Montana and I'm pretty sure the tour won't be coming to a town near us... except Chicago and maybe Denver.
I'd like to win to actually hear/see/experience this band that has been such an integral part of my life. I own ALL their albums but have never seen them perform live. I support LIVE music and musicians...
The lineup of Lollapalooza is fantastic this year and because I live in a "rural" state, my odds of attending are slim... The Strokes and The Walkmen would be icing on the cake.

I believe Chris Cornell is the best male rock singer alive and I have every Soundgarden, AudioSlave and Chris Cornell solo album/cd. I have met the real spoonman and live one mile away from the real soundgarden off of sand point , Seattle. I have lived in Seattle since 1995 and have never been able to see a Soundgarden show because of lack of money or having to work. Soungarden is my favorite Seattle Rock Band of all time.

I'm actually entering the contest in hopes to win the tickets for my friend Grant. Grant is the one that initially introduced me to Soundgarden. Sure, I had heard of them before, but the extent of my knowledge was limited to "Black Hole Sun." When I became friends with Grant, that all changed. Soundgarden is his favorite band, and through his love and passion for them, they've become one of my favorites. It's not uncommon for me to wake up with "SPOONMAN" or "Burden in my Hand" going through my head. But really, the reason why I want to win these tickets for Grant is because he has helped me out so much through an incredibly tough year. These tickets would be a great way to show my appreciation for his friendship. Besides...he would literally **** a brick if I won these tickets. The look on his face, in and of itself, would be worth it.

Well I'm sure I'm not gonna get it but Illo give it a shot. I do like soundgarden, let me get that out of the way. I would love to go see Lady Gaga. I'm going through a rough break up with my first love and she has been sorta my back bone through it and I don't even know her. She is a very talented and creative artist. I would just love to meet her and tell her how much she has helped me through this rough period. My mom has also been diagnosed with a rare disease that there is no cure for and all this has happened with in two months. I'm sure you won't understand and its hard to explain why I think I should be the one to go, but I though
t I'd at least try to let you know just a little bit that's been going on. Congrats to whoever does win have fun........

I am FROM Chicago. I love this city. I love that Wrigley Field is one of the most iconic baseball fields in America, and that it's name has not changed to some stupid cell phone company or bank's name. Same with the SEARS Tower (not Willis) and Marshall Fields (not Macy's). I love the summer time in Chicago. There is seriously nothing else like it in the world. I love walking to the lake front and just relaxing during the day and then getting ready and going absolutely buck wild on Rush&Division. I love Millennium Park and how no one really knows what the hell The Bean is supposed to be but love it anyway.
And I love Grant Park. I'm a huge fan of a lot of the bands that will be playing at Lollapalooza. I've loved Green Day since 1994, I was in 4th grade. I am now 25. I discovered the Arcade Fire about 4 years ago. I can't remember how but I know which song it was that got me absolutely hooked to their unique sound. It was Rebellion (lies). One listen was all it took. 4 years later and it is still one of my favorite songs ever. I've never gotten the chance to see it live. I would also LOVE to see MGMT live. I saw a video of them performing Electric Feel live at Coachella a few weeks ago and the entire crowd STOPPED what they were doing and just watched and listened. It would be amazing to experience something like that.
Stars is also a band I've never seen live but have always wanted to. Your Ex-Lover Is Dead is solely responsible for getting me through one of the worst break ups I've ever gone through. Those last lines "I'm not sorry I met you, I'm not sorry it's over, I'm not sorry there's nothing to say" still send chills down my spine.
My boyfriend is a fanatic of the Strokes. He's been to every show they've played in Chicago.
Both of us are tight on money this year, as unfortunately so many people are due to this LOVELY economy, and we are not sure if Lollapalooza can fit into our budget. As true Chicagoans we'd be heartbroken to miss such an iconic Chicago festival with such an amazing line up.

I have been a fan of Soundgarden since I was 14 years old..I am now going on 35. They're music has helped me through so much pain in my life. After they broke up, I never gave up hope that they would get back together. Peple made fun of me, and said that I needed to listen to new music. I always stuck with Soungarden as my favorite band. My life is finally doing good...so the news of Soundgarden getting back together was the icing on the cake. I love hem...and would love to see them live.

I'm a musician, a published author (book of poetry titled My Sanctuary), I am a HUGE fan of SOUNDGARDEN (coolest name in the world for a band btw!). I'm also freelance journalist & could take pix/interview bands at the event & contribute photos for any publications Roxwel (and affiliates) would like. SOUNDGARDEN has one of the most unique styles in music with their thick & chunky guitar sound, bad-ass vocalist, drummer that has worked on more projects with various bands, and overall SOUNDGARDEN getting back together is going to be one of the most relavent band moves in the 21st century, hopefully many more albums will come! I would love to be able to take my son to see Soundgarden. They broke up before he was old enough to see them, and they have been one of his biggest influences. Now, he plays guitar and drums, and we're both huge fans of Soundgarden's music. Seeing them live with my boy would be a dream come true for both of us.

I wore black for 3 days when sg broke up. I felt like wearing black for a day when my grandfather passed and again when Alex Lowe died. There has never been a rock and roll band like Soundgarden, except maybe Led Zeppelin. After seeing Cornell solo in 2000, I felt like praying for him every night... for a week. Like if I didn't do it, my chest would burst open. I don't pray for anybody, much less people I don't know. A few months later, Audioslave began. Sounds wacko, but sg is like an FM station inside my head. It never shuts off. I constantly tune and re-tune my guitars to open C, drop D, and standard tunings so I can play thru Down on the Upside and Superunknown. I remember the first time I saw the video for Jesus Christ Pose... Holy ****. Unbelievable... Bad-ass. To me, that is still what sg is all about. Power. Passion. Performance. Do I deserve to win? No, but then no-one DESERVES to win. But i SHOULD win. Send me. I'm feeling Minnesota.

I haven't been a fan of music my whole life. I'm only 18, so soundgarden split up when I was young. They were the first rock band I listened to and enjoyed. Soundgarden and chris cornell's influence on me was great. Since I discoverd this amazing band, I've become a huge fan of all music written by chris cornell, and many other grunge bands. I've read about Chris's childhood and he reminds me of myself in many ways. I even had the same hair as him before I got into soundgarden. I introduced soundgarden to a good friend of mine and he shares the same passion for them as me. There is not much to do in my hometown, hatboro, and a trip to chicago would be life changing. Before their reunion, I was dissapointed they were not together because I always dreamed of seeing them. I've checked the internet every week for updates, just hoping that they would get back together so I would have the chance to see them. First thing I did when they got back together is call my friend and we had a two hour conversation about them. This trip would be life changing for me and I hope you make two highschool kids' dreams come true!

I would like to take my girlfriend whose been having a really tough tough time with her health. She had a kidney removed and now the other one is deteriorating. They removed a totally good gall bladder and she;s in pain a lot. I think this trip would mean a lot to the both of us and we've never seen SG. Chicago is such a fabulous city. This would be a trip of a lifetime. Carlos, A long time SG FAN!!!

There would be no better place the see SG than the windy city. I would take my girlfriend cause she's been having a tough time with her help.

I was working at a small indie record store when Soundgarden toured through Baltimore on their Louder Than Love. they contacted our store to see if someone would like to sell their records at the local show. I didn't know who they were but I said yes. The show literally altered my entire view of what music was and could be. I was instantly converted to a life-long fan. I would love the opportunity to see them at this year's festival just as I did at the first Lollapalooza! Peace!

I've been a fan of Chris Cornell from Soundgarden through Audioslave and all solo stuff in between. Since I've never been on a vacation in my life, this would be a real treat to attend Lollapalooza in the great city of Chicago. Chris Cornell has one of the great and distinct voices of rock music. No many of those left in today's music. He's up there with Robert Plant, Stevie Winwood, Van Morrison and many more.

I dont deserve to win I just would love to, I have been a fan of Soundgarden from the begining and remember before anyone really knew who they were, standing in line a record store just to get my cd signed. I would so love to go to the show it would mean so much just to relive my youth haha, but good luck and congrats to whoever wins and have a amazing time

I've been a big fan of Sound Garden and Chris Cornell in general since I first heard Black Hole Sun, through all the solo albums and Audioslave. I have only seen him live one time and it was solo. This would be a great get away for my husband and I because it will be shortly after he gets home from Afghanistan (Marine Corps) and right before we both go back to another semester at college. It would be a great way to celebrate and take our last little break for a while. And I have never been to Lollapalooza!

Arcade Fire is the band we listened to while we were falling in love. Also we have a 1 year old who is amazing, yet tiring and we have never had a break.

I deserve to be at Lollapalooza to see Devo for two reasons. First, back in the early '80's, my High School's official class prophesy predicted that 25years in the future, I would still be rocking out to Devo. And that prediction was 100% accurate. Also, I took my niece to Lollapalooza when she was a pre-teen. Now she lives in Chicago, so I get to bring her to Lollapalooza as a grownup.

I am not self-absorbed enough to say that I deserve to win. However, I would greatly enjoy being in attendance at a venue I've never been to before with thousands of fans that have the same appreciation for music that I have. I've been hit hard by the crappy economy and have subsequently had to put a lot of things on hold....I haven't had a hair cut in years and my health would greatly benefit from medication and a trip to the doctor's, yet I do the best I can with what I have. I am currently a student a California State University, Long Beach and am working on a teaching credential. I have sacrificed a lot to be able to take classes at the university, in hopes of being a positive change in the world. By becoming an English teacher, I hope to one day create ebbs in the ocean that come crashing into the grains of sand and forever change the face of the earth. Wish me luck. :)Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Nancy

I believe I deserve to win because I'm a huge fan of most of the bands in the lineup and I think the rest of the bands will be great, and I love discovering new bands to love. Also, The Strokes will be performing and they're only doing a few festivals this summer and I became a lover of their music right after their 2006 tour and haven't seen a show of theirs yet. So, seeing my absolute favorite band in one of the most beautiful cities in the world would be a dream come true. And, with VIP it would be an honor if I could meet my heroes. And Lady Gaga is one of my idols and to see her on stage doing her thing would be surreal. I feel I've worked really hard in school and get good grades and am loving to everyone and try to help in whatever way I can and hopefully I'll be rewarded by being able to go to Lollapalooza to see this amazing lineup. Thank you

I deserve to win because I LOVE and RESPECT sis. Erykah Badu. She is a pioneer of Neo-Soul, one of the most eclectic and sophisticated genres of my time. Incorporating elements of r&b, jazz and spoken word, I can't imagine any other style coming remotely close in comparison. Badu is not only superb but her vocal tone is unique and I HEAR [because I've never been able to attend a concert :( ] that her albums do not do her voice FULL justice as her range is unreal live. That is all I wanted to say, and I REALLY REALLY hope I win. Peace&Blessings to all.

I grew up on Erykah Badu because my mom absolutely loved her! As I grew older I was able to understand her songs more and found a new appreciation for her music, and today I am just as big of a fan as my mom was when I was growing up. Last year due to financial reasons I had to put a hold on my college education so now I am working 2 jobs to save up the money to go back. As you can imagine this is very stressful but going to see Erykah Badu in Chicago would not only make my YEAR but it would give me a much needed break that I deserve.

Even since I was in middle school I've wanted to see Soundgarden live, but I was too young according to my parents. When the guys called it quits back in '97, I was crushed! They've been a musical influence on me throughout my life and seeing them live would just be unimaginable!

Oh where to start...Green Day, do I need to say anymore? What a band...Soundgarden returns... I worked a palooza concert back in the '90s was able to watch the whole concert on stage, was able to meet Soundgarden, Metallica, Screaming Trees, The Ramones, Rage Against the Machine (ate dinner in the mess tent with Rage) and many others. It is that time again to grab another bite to eat. Pick me!

If I have to explain a million reasons why, I could but, seeing how just entering brings me a little closer to something I always dreamed of. Soundgarden has been my favorite band since I was about 7 years old. My older brother would listen to them constantly, and they would come on MTV constantly. It was heartbreaking to know when the broke up a long time ago. Another heartbreaking thing was that my brother left home and never came back. Every time I listen to Soundgarden, I think about my brother and it comforts the thought of him being away. Also, towards the start of the year. my ex-fiancee left me because his parents forced him to choose money over me. I was so broken hearted at what happened to me. I never cried so much in my life. His parents left me at a hotel and made me fly home from all by myself. It was scary. I got home safely though. However, that same night he was calling me and telling me that "I should wait for him to come back and not be with anyone for 6 months" I got angry and the best thing happened - I got an email saying "Soundgarden has reunited after 12 years" My sadness disappeared. I told the world (and my ex-fiancee) "Soundgarden has never betrayed me. I'd pick them over you anyday!" HE chose money over me, I chose Soundgarden over him. If I win these tickets, I'll know that the heartbreak was worth it. I'll never cry about that event ever again knowing that I'll get to see the band that I fall asleep listening to every single night. This would mean so much to me right now, I don't know what I would do. Soundgarden never came to my area in South Dakota, so if I got to do this, it would probably be one the greatest events in my life. Thank you

I feel so old. I am 42, I have 3 boys, I am a teachers aide for special ed. kids, my husband is a guitar teacher, we have no money and we never see each other, we haven't had a date in years!
I moved here from Ireland in 1986, met my husband in 1991, went to every concert I could, including most Lollapalooza shows, had a blast and miss those days more than anything. I love my family but I am no longer the person I used to be, I feel old and tired and I think going to this show would revive me and honestly, it would be such a wonderful break from my mundane life but I cannot afford to go, thanks for listening and may the most deserving person win and truly appreciate every minute of the prize.

Me and my boyfriend have been together for almost 6 months. He is a 18 year old aspiring DJ from Philly. He love all kinds of music, and looking at the line up most of the artist he either plays, listens too, or highly respects. Me on the other hand, I LOVE ERYKAH BADU...!!! I have been begging him to take me to see her, but because of money being very tight we were not able to go when she was in town. Badu is like my idol. I wish everyone in the world would have her out look on life. Its like she has a song for ever emotion imaginable. She helped me get through troubled times last year when my younger brother was killed, and she helped me express how much i love my boyfriend. all in all i really hope you would consider choosing me for this contest. it would mean the world to both me and my boyfriend. I dont have an amazing sob story to tell. Im a single mother taking care of my son and going to school just as Im sure so are millions of other people. I just found out Im 6 weeks pregnant, only catch is the dad (who is the father of my 15 month old) will not be around. I dont have any heartbreaking tear jerking explanation on why I want these two tickets. Truth be told I could probably save up the money and just go or catch the next one whenever. Lollapalooza isnt really going any where. It would be nice though to get a free vacation in a sense before I have my second child which is due in december. I thought it would be very nice to enter a contest just to see what would happen. Which is, Im sure, why anyone would want to enter a contest. Really I just want to see Erykah Badu because she inspires me to create my own music. If I dont win thats fine, Ill probably be one of the artists people come to see in the near future :)

Music is the resolution to the sacred connection of humanity. we find ourselves in music, not only do we hear but we feel, see, embrace and above all, we are the music. as only music can bring humanity together no matter what realm of existence we may be experiencing. the sound of music may change but the continuum of rythum exchanges the same ancient remedy. it would be a great honor and a stellar experience to be in the presence of such amazing artists. What a moment to take in and once again hear "jesus christ pose". One of the most awaited bands to hopefully hit the stage is once again together. The love i have for that band and respect that they deserve, ahhhh, also along with the beyond belief kickass line up, no doubt this is the show i have been waiting for my entire life....this is the one...the one that "outshines" and takes my breath away not just once...i want to be a part of that so bad, it's a need...to be there will not only be epic but a moment in history. with all the good energy in the universe, i hope i get a chance to pay my respect, to the music that made me love the essence of "reach down deep" passion that never fades. no matter what happens, this is the moment TO BE A PART OF.... all feel..... good luck to each of us. LOLLAPALOOZA 2010 THIS IS THE MOMENT

In the six months that followed, I had a kidney stone, moved three times, had the H1N1 flu, pinkeye, pulled my back, and got a restraining order, all while taking a full load of college classes for nursing school (getting straight A's) and working full-time in the ER. When I found out Soundgarden was getting back together, it made my year. I missed an opportunity to see them when I was a teenager, just before they broke up, and I've been kicking myself ever since. They're my favorite band of all time. Seeing them (and all the other great bands) at Lollapalooza would be such a great reward for all the hard work I've put in to improve my life over the past year.

While I was riding my bike last week, a minivan knocked me to the pavement. Luckly, there weren't other cars coming, but I'm now on crutches for 3 months and have 6 months of rehab to fix my broken tibia. All because someone couldn't be bothered to look both ways while talking on a cell phone. I wish I could make this **** up. Naturally, I'm pretty bummed about not being able to join my family on our camping trip or being able to hold my lifeguarding job this summer. If I won these tickets, it would be a wonderful thing to look forward to. I love Erykah's new album (and every album) and from what I've seen on YouTube she puts on quite a show. Please make this a summer to remember for something over than pain.

I am really looking foward to this and I would never foorget that concert I know it's going to be CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pick ME Jazmine Johnson!!!!!!

I bet there are plenty of more deserving people the I, but... I LOVE LOVE LOVE Erykah Badu I think she is an amazing artist and I love that she has her own style, don't care what no-one thinks. Im a single mother of an amaxing 5year old boy. Last time I was on a plane I was in the care of my mother. A vacation would be much needed and appreciated!! GOOD luck to all. I hope the most deserving person wins!!

I deserve to win because one day I'll rule the earth, and I'm offering a promise of non-violence to Soundgarden. I need to go to the Lollapalooza to establish this treaty, and to tell them where they need to be when the world is attacked by an army of babies trained in the arts of philosophy and Ninjitsu.

I don't necessarily deserve to win. Though it would be awesome to enjoy myself in a new atmosphere... I'd love to see Erykah Badu, she rocks my world, and listen to bands that I've never heard of before, that would be neat. HEY! Maybe I'll fall in love with a new favorite band. Who knows. :P

Soundgarden, Devo, X Japan, Erykah Badu, Social D, The Strokes, Jimmy Cliff, Chromeo, Gogol Bordello, Wolfmother, Cypress Hill, And our local band Blitzen Trapper. 'Nuff said! I know I don't deserve something like this, but I'd work my ass off for it. Whatever you'd want me to do, whether I write about my experience or help you advertise this. I don't expect any of this for free. I applaud any person that would get this experience, it's a once in a lifetime for most of us. Good luck to everyone entering.

I would love to go see Soundgarden in concert because I believe they are one of the greatest bands that has ever graced the stage. Plus to have the opportunity to see Soundgarden perform when I thought they were done... would be amazing.

i deserve to win because i've already tried selling my soul for something like this. several times. i'm 36 and have never been to a single concert in my life. no excuses. i was very close to seeing alice in chains then couldn't, then layne died. i'd be willing to donate a testicle to see soundgarden. thanks.

I deserve to win because I have been a Soundgarden fan for 20 years now. I am a mother of 3 and my husband and I have never been able to take a vacation together in 10 years. Soundgarden is my all-time favorite band and it would mean the world to me to be able to see them and to be able to get away with my husband who also loves Soundgarden.

I deserve to win because I've never been on vacation. I've had a string of bad luck lately and just yesterday my brake line on my car broke and I'll need to replace it. I was going to buy tickets for Lollapalooza but don't know if I can afford to now. The bands headlining this concert are a lot of my favorite bands of all time. I need to win this so I finally have something to look forward to and a chance to escape my mundane unlucky situation and rock out to my favorite bands.

I die for those tickets. Erykah Badu has been, and will always be my musical mother. Her music has opened my eyes to other forms of music as well as issues that plague us in this day and age. Not only will I be singing EVERY song verbatim, I would be crying because of the fact that I would be so close to a person that has shaped and changed my life as a man, African American, American, musician, and human. These tickets WILL change my life and honestly is way more than just another concert, but more of a huge life fulfillment and night of bliss....I have like....Nothing else to say but PLLLLLLEEEEEEEAAAAASE PICK ME!!! I love you Badu!!!!!!! *faints*

Music has always been a huge part of my life. It has been THE constant companion through the ups and downs in my life. Some people go to therapy-- I put on Erykah Badu, Green Day, MGMT, Jimmy Cliff, and other great artists to make sense of it all. And Lady Gaga to dance and just escape it all. Music brings you back to your core. Just the sheer enjoyment, that for that moment, you forget about the daily troubles and enjoy LIFE. Attending Lollapalooza 2010 would mean the world to me. Watching all of my favorite artists and sharing that experience with others would be a dream come true. Thank you for your consideration! M.

Oh my, i deserve to win because i am a hard-rocking, turn the music up louder, Mom. Going to see bands perform is a gift and I would bring my son with me ( always said i would take him to his first concert) and share a once-in-a-lifetime memory with him that we would have forever. How awsome would that be?!?!?!?!?!? Thank you for you're consideration.

I deserve to win tickets to Lollapalooza because I'm being a responsible parent to my son and am showing him the greatest musical talent the world has to offer. Chris Cornell was his 1st and 2nd concerts and he loves Soundgarden. It would be an unforgettable experience for the both of us to see one of the most kick-ass bands ever reunite.

I deserve to win tickets to Lollapalooza 2010 because I've been a Soundgarden fan for over 15 yrs and I absolutely love Chris Cornell. I finally got the chance to see Chris Cornell last year when I was 4 months pregnant. Right in front of the stage before he came on, I passed out and had to leave. I missed my chance at seeing the most talented musician to ever live. And since this may be the last chance to ever see Soundgarden again, I definitely need to go to this concert!

I really dont have any sad stories about my pet dog or hamster dying so I guess i will try my best to convince you why i should win. I think i should win because I"ve never been to a event like Lallapalooza i think it would be a great experience. If i won i would take my cousin and we always said if we were rich one of the things we would do is travel the world a just go to every concert we wanted to attend. Since we cant complete that dream right now because we are 40 hour a week working college students this is close enough. Also Erykah Badu is my favorite artist since Baduizm so you have to let me win.I mean really what do we have to do? Do we have to go as far as making a parody of the window seat video and write Lollapalooza 2010 on our backs. With all that said i think you should pick me.
Ps. My pet fish died yesterday if that helps.

I feel I deserve to win because I feel Lallapalooza was created by free spirits which in return attracts free spirits! I was at the first Lallapalooza and kept going until it stopped being held in California. There is nothing as blessed to be able to be surrounded by so much talent and positive/uplifting energy coming from the artists and the fans that attend. Badu has been an icon for me since I was a little girl - my mom was the one that introduced me to her music. Since then, each time she has came to town I have taken my mom to see her. For me, I grew up in the metal scene but was able to grow to learn so many different styles - from Slayer to Tori Amos to Dr. Dre to Femi Kuti to Little Big Town. This type of show is made for a person like me!

I am 37 years old and the first time I saw Erykah it was in a very intimate setting in the city of Greenville, SC in 1997. I'm graduating college May 15th, 20 years to date after I've graduated from high school and this would be the perfect graduation gift for me. I love her and have followed her since she would play sets with the Roots and Jill Scott was one of her backup singers. Erykah Badu is a very magnetic artist that never stop pushing the envelope and I'm proud to say she inspires me tremendously.

I was at the first three Lollapalooza festivals held at Waterloo village NJ back in 1991,2, and 3. (yes, I'm old...) Loll 1 was EPIC--being in the front of the pit for Janes Addiction was one of the highlites of my life, seriously. Perry rules...... My best friend from childhood, who I went with to these and many other shows, lives in Chicago now and I haven't seen him since my wedding in 2001. I also have three small children that have destroyed the social lives of my wife and I and we need a kick-ass reason to get the hell out of Dodge for a weekend! Hook a brother up, will ya?!?!?!?

I don't know about deserving to win as I am no saint by a long shot. I'm kinda a ***** who is getting better with her road rage. If a homeless person is standing on a corner, I always give em whatever change I have. I say a small prayer for anyone who is stranded on the side of the road and at one point picked up a hitchhiker. Anywho, I would like to win because I love all music (well almost all) but definantely Greenday and Eryca Badu...are you serious!?!...If I win this would be a dream as I am craving a mini vacation without the kids...hell without the hubby either. :)

This is my second year living in the U.S. I came from Harare, Zimbabwe and I've always heard great stories from this festival. Furthermore, I reside and go to college in Northfield, Minnesota, which would be an amazing opportunity for me to visit Chicago. I've seen the lists of musicians playing and they seem to offer a great of variety which is always key to concerts. Personally, I would love to see Erykah Badu live because of her extreme originality, creativity, and rawness. I've always wondered what is going through her mind...full of inspiration and soul, Erykah Badu is a master at communicating words and feelings to her audience. I believe it would be an opening experience for me here in the U.S. Much love to all.

For many reasons ... however, we'll start with I am STOOPID! I forgot ever having seen SS live with G.Love in S. Fla a couple of years back! I mean duh..how ******* of a genius forgets SS live in concert with G. Love. So, hear is the story .. I've been living in a suitcase, couch crashing for a couple of years. At some point after having gone to the show hid my ticket in my dad's old cigar box (one of 3 things I kept when he died) my now current tix box. I have finally moved into a place of my own in Dwntn St. Pete. Point being I was unpacking when I ran across the tix box and stumbled across the ticket in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago! The whole show came rushing back to me in an instant. I love Chicago & am in love with Slightly Stoopid to say the least! I couldn't think of a better candidate to have at the show with her old ticket in hand for a good laugh and a GREAT TIME!! peaceout..Meredith

You'd think you'd see alot of concerts in the "rock and roll" city of Cleveland. Unfortunately that's not the case, and I live there. With all of the bands that are on the bill for all Lollapalooza, they are guaranteed to skip the Forest city on their summer tour and flock to greener pastures. That's why going to Lollapalooza this year will not only be something that I have always wanted to do it will and free me of the corporate chains that tie down my hometown's music scene. Please send me to Chi-town!!!

I have never seen them in concert and quite frankly I feel like I havent really lived yet because of it. I dont care about Chicago or all the hotel **** that goes along with it all I would graciously accept those as well, but I am dying to see them in concert. Wow this would be sooo awesome to win because
1) I've been a fan since "All Hours Cymbals" not just their newest album that was incredible. So far, Odd Blood is one of my most listened to albums recently.
2)I was wanting to go with a friend to Lolla anyways and this would be our first time and having VIP passes would just be the icing on the cake for a great festival.
3) Right now me and my buddy are actually planning on staying in his car to save money from hotels...haha so a free hotel would be great!
4) Getting a chance to meet the band and ask them questions would be a great experience before leaving the country in september for college in England. I most likely wouldn't be able to see Yeasayer for at least another year.
5)I'm not into the "itunes way of buying things" I buy the hard copy, more specifically Vinyls! The opportunity to get them signed would be awesome!
6) and the most important reason that I should win is: I proudly own and wear a snuggie.

I plan on interning/working all summer and this will be mine and my girlfriends major get-away. I've never been to Chicago and would be just as excited to experience a new city, as I would this amazing festival. I would be most looking forward to Arcade Fire and Yeasayer, my two favorite bands of this generation, but of course would be excited for tons of others (Devo, Hot Chip, Black Keys...). We already planned on saving money to go to this when we heard the announced lineup but had a reality shock when we saw how much hotels and plane tickets actually cost. We still want to make it happen whether we are chosen or not but winning this would be uh-freakin-amazing.

Since the release of Yeasayer's latest ablum "Odd Blood", my brother has been all about them. Now normally I would just buy him a ticket to go, but money is tight in my family right now. My brother has gotten very sick and he's not covered under our health insurance, which means my single mother has been paying off everything on her own. I think he would enjoy this and it would show that life is not as bleak and dull as he believes it is.

I am DYING to go to Lollapalooza! This year's line-up is THE MOST AMAZING that I've seen yet. Even better than Coachella's was I believe. It would BLOW MY MIND to be able to see all these bands perform in one amazing weekend! Many of the performers are from other countries and the opportunity to see them LIVE in Chicago would be truly once in a lifetime. Words cannot explain what it would mean to me to be able to attend Lollapalooza! PICK ME PLEASE!

I would absolutely love to win for various reasons. Firstly, I haven't yet had the chance to make it to a big music festival, and I think Lolla would be the best to experience first. Chicago is an amazing city. I just saw Yeasayer perform this week and I was able to hang out with them at an after party. They're truly gentleman and a great group. Their music is love and inspiration. Simply divine. Would love to see them live again.

I think I should win. I am from Brooklyn and have known about Yeasayer for a few years now; I have converted so many people to the Yeasayer path of inspiration and light. I go to school in Utah and no one has any idea about indie music. After getting to know me, they not only become fans, they learn to appreciate music, good music that is.

I think I should win because Im probably one of yeasayers biggest fans, no lie. I would love to show them my tattoo which is a yeasayer lyric haha . Im also really into music, I recently went to Ultra Music Fest 2010! It was an amazing time, and I would like to repeat that amazing time in my own city, Chicago! So i really think i should win! plus lollapalooza is my birthday weekend!!!!! and it would make my birthday a million times better! woooh

I've been going to Lollapalooza for the past four years amongst the masses and I want see how the other side experiences it. Plus I adore Yeasayer and last time I missed most of their set because it was a choice of dying of heat stroke or getting cool. I chose life. I am a great fan of music and would be extreemly grateful for a VIP experience.

The first time I saw Yeasayer was at Lollapalooza in 2008, and I instantly fell in love! I just saw them again at Coachella this year, and they were AMAZING! My boyfriend is still in college, and I just lost my job, so I don't think we'll be able to go to Lollapalooza this year if we don't win tickets somehow. I'd also love to see the other bands in the lineup this year!

I saw Yeasayer in Atlanta this April and absolutely loved it. When I heard they would be at Lolla I was determined to go, but I'm now realizing that it's not exactly reasonable to spend my summer savings when I've already begun to rack up a good amount of debt in school loans. Since I moved 700 miles south to go to school at Florida State, I'd love to win two tickets for me and a hometown friend to have an awesome time that neither of us could otherwise afford.

Yes, I've yet to see yeasayer live... It is correct I've never been to lollapalooza, but oh I would love to. You see yeasayer has truly understood why I like listening to them. They don't give a f*ck what people think, plus they like green tea. winning these tickets with an awesome deal like this would be perfect. I have no money, fresh outta high school the only other way for me to go would to start walking from oklahoma. I would hopefully make it but with all those bad guys out there in the world, would you really want me to get hurt? or even . . die? com'n do this for my sake of life. Grazie

the last time i went to lollapalooza was in 08, and thats where i first discovered Yeasayer! since then, ive been an avid fan, bought the deluxe vinyl Odd Blood package, repped their videos on my facebook, and turned on a few people to them in the process. Im basically obsessed with this band (in a good way)....yet I didnt get to see them in Texas, where i live due to being out and away from culture and civilization :[---which is why i I DESERVE TO SEE THEM!

I deserve to win because it would be a great opportunity to spend time with my best friend before she and I part ways. Have loved Cypress Hill since the age of 13. 1st Seen their "How I could Just Kill a Man". B-Reals and Sen Dogs teaming vocals, solid lyrics. Muggs crazy insane DJing that still cant be beat. They brought the scene a whole 2 new level/realm. And then 'Black Sunday' came out and they did it all over again. Amazing. Been down w/ the 'Hill' since day one. The Hill then became my first real concert @ age 14 when they brought the 'Soul Assasains' tour to K.C. A 'higher' standard had been set and could not be matched. I love Janes Addiction and the Ramones and missed all of the priceless lolapalooza moments. These were the best days a teenager could ask for. Thanx 2 all the above mentioned. Much Luv, One Luv!

Nobody really deserves to go more than someone else, it's all luck of the draw, so I won't be smug and say why I of all people deserve these tickets. But I will say why I'd want to go. This festival is showcasing some of the best acts in music today: Gogol Bordello, MGMT...and also, older bands like Devo. But the best part about Lolla this year...it marks the triumphant return of SOUNDGARDEN. Without a doubt, this is one of the greatest things to happen to music in a very long time, and I would give almost anything to go see Soundgarden and all those other amazing bands live.
So I entered, and probably won't win, but thats just basic math, considering my win/lose ratio right now is 1 out of 559. So I'll just cross my fingers until then...
on Tue Apr 27th, 2010 said...
My best friend and I met the summer before high school- she befriended me immediately and without question and now we've been friends for almost a decade. The first time I heard Gogol Bordello was with her... I immediately knew I loved the gypsy rock and asked a cashier who was playing. Being the person I am, I forgot the name immediately and managed to lose the paper I'd written the name on as well. Michelle remembered, of course, because that's who she is (if it was important to me, it was important to her too) and we've been steadfast fans ever since.
We're both graduating from college this spring and both moving on to new phases of our lives in different cities doing whatever. I don't know what's going to happen in the future but it would be so amazing to spend Lollapalooza weekend with her during what might be the last summer of its kind. When we're old and gray and saggy I want to be able to look back on a weekend like this and... that's why I feel we deserve to win :)

He's a major Lady Gaga fan (calls himself one of her "little monsters" and I would like nothing better than to see MGMT and Yeasayer live. Almost went to Bonnaroo to see them last year, but once aagain money was tight. I'm not sure when an opportunity for me to go to another amazing music festival like this will be, growing up isn't much fun at all... I'd love to attend Lolla and pretend to be a kid again. :]

I wouldn't say I deserve to win but I would like to win the tickets so that I may take my son to see his favorite band in the world: "Green Day". He lost his father, my husband last year and I have been trying to keep his sprit up by taking him to see Green Day in concert on July 28, 2009 at Madison Square Garden. We didn't have the greatest seats but we were there. Also, we recently went to see "American Idiot" on Broadway (New York). The show was great. We had a good time. It would be the Greatest Surprise to tell him that I have two tickets to this event. It would mean the world to him. He is currently studying guitar and learning all the songs the Band plays. He is a going into his second year of guitar lessons and is doing quite well. Winning these tickets, and getting the chance to see the band again (and perhaps meeting his Idol "BillieJoe" would make his world a Great place at this time. I would love to have the opportunity to tell him we are going!!!

You will give me free tickets to see Yeasayer. You will allow me to see Yeasayer live in concert. You will give me two free flight tickets to Chicago. You will give me tickets to Lollapalooza. You will give me a free stay at a hotel. You will give me VIP access. You will allow me to attend the greatest festival on the face of the Earth. You will allow me to see some of the greatest bands of history come together for a few glorious, electrifying days. You will make everything else I do in my life seem like a joke compared to this experience. You will make me so happy, that my energy spirit will summon the Earth God, causing a cataclysmic rupture in the farthest edges of the universe, channeling the forces of the heavens to bring about a wave of fulfillment and destiny across the land. You will want to see this awe-inspiring sight as much as I do. As will Yeasayer. "You must stick up for yourself son", they instruct to me in their wonderful music, "Nevermind what anybody else does".
Sincerely your best friend,

We have been wanting to go since we were "Kids", "crawling on our knees toward it, making our momma so proud but our voices were too loud", but thats another story. So once you "duel it, duel it, duel, juggle it, duel it, duel it" and come to your decsion, I hope u pick me to recieve lollapalooza tickets cause "lights and music our on my mind". If u choose me, my sis and I will be in "Lisztomania" whatever that is. If u choose me Roxwel "my heart will fly to you just like a dove It can fly, it can flyyy". Now if u will excuse me it is "Time to Pretend" I am going this year. Thank you for listening Roxwel.

The thing is if I get only "O.N.E" ticket its "not enough i wont stop till I" get o.n.e for my sister. See, she had a boyfriend named "Alejandro" and he doesnt "call her name, call her name" anymore. They always would fight "Night by Night". "He said shes too dramatic, She said hes not romantic", so they broke up and shes so sad now. She keeps on saying shes an "American Idiot" to have let him go. Well its been "Two Weeks" since she lost her "Grizzly Bear" and shes still more sad then ever, luckily lollapalooza's coming to town and i think she'll be "Walking On A Dream" if she could go. I'm a native of Chi-town, recently uprooted and re-settled in New England; Lollapalooza is THE SINGLE GREATEST Chicago event during the summer- possibly the single greatest event anywhere. Boston and NYC have nothing on this: the most rockin' and incredible artists, new and established, gathering for a weekend of unfathomably awesome music. Why do I need to be there? Because this East Coast girl is achin' for some good, home-cooked concerts in her favorite city in the world and the chance to share that love up close and personal with her favorite artists- Bring me home, baby!

I LIVE FOR MUSIC...i know you've heard that one a million times, BUT music, Green Days in particular has a incredibly emotional meaning for me and my family and friends of my cousin, Blair, that passed in 2006. Im from the Kerplunk / Dookie generation and my cousin was from The American Idiot generation. He FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM AND THEIR MUSIC, and of course I had already been in love for YEARS. My cousin passed away by commiting suicide and American Idiot and Green Day and their music commerate his memory. He wanted Good Riddance played @ his funeral and we honored his request with the releasing of doves while playing that song. The day he died was the WORST day of my entire life. I still think of him each and every day. Music was his world also. His best friend became very good friends with me and my best friend a while back and were like the 4 amigos. Green Day was OUR band! I would love to win this contest because I, for one, would go and enjoy ALL the music and bands, but secondly I know my cousin would have loved to go with me and if he was still here, i'd take him in a heartbeat, he LOVED Lollapalooza and the Warped Tour. In his place theres no one else I'd take but my best friend who loved my cousin as much as I did...like a brother. I've had a ton of things happen over the past three years since hes been gone and have got thru them, and I know it's because I have him as my kick ass guardian angel :) I thank God for music every day, without it or my angel, I wouldn't be.

I deserve to see this venue because as a kid I was denied the opportunity, my grandfather hated rock music and swore it was the devil. Haha. If he could only see me now!

I first saw Devo on the New Traditionalists Tour at the California Theater in San Diego. I was in high school, and convinced a friend to go with me, because at my high school funk was the most popular music and not many people knew of Devo. Anyway, it was a life-changing show for me, of course, and I bought the energy dome at the show and wore it driving home....and subsequently was pulled over by a policeman. And, of course, we had an open bottle of champagne in the car. So when I saw the cop's flashing lights in my rear view, I threw the energy dome in the backseat and pulled over while my friend hid the champagne. The cop got out of his car, walked over, and the first thing he said to me was, "What happened to your Devo hat?" I think he thought it was so funny - we were scared - that he let us go with a warning. I still have my energy dome and my New Traditionalists T-shirt, as that was the second concert I ever saw and it truly turned me on to the power of live music. I saw Devo again at the Baccanal club in San Diego in the early 90s; they were playing an acoustic show, which was utterly fantastic as well. I'd love to see them again.

I love all kinds of different artists. I have never been to a concert in all my life and would love to go. I have never really had the money to afford it especially now since I have three kids. I am desperately in need a mini vacation since I am a stay at home mom and get no breaks or help from anyone. My husband works his butt off for everything we have and it would be an awesome thing for the both of us to get a chance to get away from all the chaos for a little while. Plus I absolutely love Lady Gaga, she is sooo awesome!!!! I think Lollapalooza would be an awesome vacation and together time with my husband, we would enjoy it very much.

I absolutely love music. I breathe it in everyday and it is as vital of a life source as air for me. I have always dreamed of going to Lolla but I could never afford it or get to it. Going this year would be amazing because the setlist is phenomenal. I would love to see Yeasayer because O.N.E is my favorite song to dance to!

I AM A HUGE GRIZZLY BEAR fan, i am currently going to school to be a nurse, i work, but only part time because i have to concentrate on school so it is hard to be able to afford things like lalapalooza like i would like to, for the last couple of years i have been dying to go and now that grizzly bear is goinng to be there i want to go so badly. I listen to them constantly, when im doing HW or just relaxing. It would be a dream come true to win, i never win anything, but i thought what do you have to loose, jusst go for it anyways

Do we win the contest by having the best reason why we should go? Did I just ruin my chances? ****.

I'm a huge Grizzly Bear fan (as well as many, many other artists attending). I didn't get a chance to go see them in Coachella (3-day passes only?) and with the conglomeration of tons of other bands and artists, this would be such a great opportunity to see them all.

This will be wilddddd! Thats why I should win.

I am a huge DEVO fan, I havent seen them live in 20 years. The last time they were playing in Boston was the night before my wedding and could not attend because of the rehersall dinner. My email is devo, my cats name is devo, I would love to take my wife to Chicago to see them. Thank You, A devoted DEVO fan

Not only have I not been able to see any of these bands when they have come through towns near me because of a rigorous Masters program and grading papers, but these dates will fall right after I drive with my boyfriend to help him get settled before law school starts. This is a three day drive. He likes NONE of the music I like. Please, please help me see the music I love!
on Sun Apr 25th, 2010 said...
I LIVE FOR CHROMEO! But seriously, I've never been to Chicago or any huge festival such as this... Everything I do is related to music... I'd love to rep my city of Portland, Oregon and my college radio station KPSU! I've gone to concerts alone for years due to not knowing anyone else who likes my sort'a music, but my best friend and I would have such a blasty blast at Lollapalooza before I leave to study abroad in the fall!

Music is powerful... and there is nothing like seeing it among masses of people who gather just to witness it in the making. I love nothing more than to close my eyes and take it all in...the beats, the voices of man and instrument, the excitement and energy coming from both crowd and artists. But alas, such experiences don't come cheap and each year it is getting harder and harder to afford the fest. I would LOVE to go to Lollapalooza this year ... and to be able to go behind the scenes would elevate it to something out of this WORLD!
on Sun Apr 25th, 2010 said...
I don't think I DESERVE to win, but I sure would like to. I can't afford to go otherwise.
I went to the first several Lollapalooza's (not talking about Archie's Bang Shang Lollapalooza Show though, because that was on television) and would like to go again. I would particularly love to see Devo again because their musical legacy spans generations for men in my family. I started loving them as a child in the 80's. My younger brother started maniacally loving them in the 90's. Now, my son loves them.
Also, my plan to become a close person friends with Lady Gaga needs a jumping off point, and this would do wonders to making that happen.

This is like a dream come true! I live at least 5 hours away from a real place to watch a show! I used to live in Florida...where it was sooo easy, now i'm stuck in a small down under the population of 30,000. Lollapalooza would be such an AMAZING AMAZING thing to go too. so many bands, so much music, so much inspiration! WONDERFUL!
on Sun Apr 25th, 2010 said...
I used to HATE Devo when I was in high school, I thought they were a bunch of tards with their silly hats and such. In 1982 I moved to a new town, and was invited to a Devo concert. I had no interest in going, but I was invited by three hot girls who were friends of my uncle. Of course I went, three hot girls easily defeated by dislike for Devo. Went to the show and totally changed my opinion of Devo. They were great, the show was great, and I ended up dating one of those hot girls for almost a year. I would love to go to Lollapalooza (have never been), and would be thrilled to see Devo.
on Sun Apr 25th, 2010 said...
I entered, as I would love to take my wife to see DEVO, then read some of the stories of others who want to go. Now I think, damn, my life's been pretty good...maybe one of them should go instead of me. Should I withdraw? WWDD?
on Sun Apr 25th, 2010 said...
I've lived a sheltered life with a very poor family. But my love for music has been a huge inspiration in my life through all the good and the bad times. Now that I'm on my own its been a serious mission to see as much music as possible and travel since I have barely gotten to travel out of California. I've always wanted to go to Lollapalooza but being that this incredible fest is always in Chicago it's not been a option out on my own! So I definitely deserve to go and the line up is fan-f*ckin-tastic! As is every year!

I love the bands in this years lollapalooza, and I am obsessed with Lady Gaga yet always miss out on a chance to see her live!! I have tried tirelessly to get tickets but each location is always sold out in five minutes, and I don't have the money to get them on stubhub or any of those sites!!! PLEASE help make my dream of seeing her come true!!! THANK YOU!!!!

So many of my favorite bands are going to be at Lollapalooza this year. I would kill to see Grizzly Bear and MGMT! Unfortunately, having recently lost my job, I am unable to afford tickets this year. Please help me get there!

I deserve to win because a) I have not been to Lollapalooza; b) the line-up features way too many artists I have grown to love over the years (Chromeo, Arcade Fire, MGMT, to name a FEW); c) I LOVE GAGA I'M FLYING FROM FL TO NYC JUST TO SEE HER; and d) I will pee my pants with excitement and let it be advertised how freaking excited I am!!!

My sister was constantly in and out of prison and my father didnt think that it was a good enviorment for me to grow up in. I am now almost 22 years old and am a very independent woman. My rent, car payment, car insurance, and all living exspences I have paid in full myself since the day I turned 18. Not once have I had any sort of financial help from anyone. All of my family lives in Illinois and I have been unable to save enough money to make a trip down. I've never been to Lallapalooza but have seen the different lineups over the years and love the artists that play. This year with Lady Gaga performing, it would be so amazing to see her perform. Gaga being the sucessful independent woman she is. I am a huge fan of her work. Not only would I be able to see a kick ass show but I would also be able to see my father, grandmother, and much of my family I have not seen in almost 10 years. It would truely be amazing.

I would love to go to lollapalooza because I've never been to a concert my whole life. It would be a once in a lifetime experience and it would definitely be something I'd tell my children about. The whole line-up is amazing. I absolutely love Devo, Lady GaGa, Green Day, Phoenix, Empire of the Sun, Grizzly Bear, and B.o.B. It would be a wonderful experience to see them live. Plus, it would be a way to share my passion with my mother, I've always been making music and I've loved singing and she could finally see the remarkable artists that inspire me.

I've been a fan since the 70s and have never seen them live. They inspired me to wear gaudy clothing (per the Devolutionary Oath) in high school, earning myself the nickname "Devo." Following their superior misguidance, I enrolled in Club Devo and even delved into the Church Of The SubGenius. I almost peed my pants when they performed on my role model Johnny Slash's show Square Pegs. Their music has inspired me to make my own music and not be limited by boundries such as "musicality" or "songwriting cliches," but with the acceptance that other people may be listening. I'm totally _________ed that they're coming out with a new album, and will promptly _____ it in my ____. Thank you for your consideration, and May The Spud Be With You. Long live Dev-O.

But I will just continue doing what I need to do for myself. Thank You.

She rips my heart through my soul, and right back to my brain, leaving me speechless every single time I hear her sing! I was also one of her first fans ever, whom she followed on Twitter. I am her oldskool monster, she ate my heart and then she ate my brain, and I love her-I can't complain! GOO GOO 4 GAGA!!!!

I deserve to win because I convinced my Gramps to buy me Devo's "New Traditionalists" album when I was a wee tot at the ripe old age of 8 and it hasn't left my brainwaves since.... It's all Devo's fault! Because of them I now crave music at a pace I can't keep up with... Only Lollapalooza can satisfy my needs!!! Plus, there's the sheer terror I felt at Lollapalooza '92 when Ministry tore up Atlanta and flames and trash were flying everywhere!!! All Ice Cube kept talking about was the police and it was freaking me out.... I've been having panic attacks ever since!!! Then there was that Lollazpalooza in Ogden, UT in '93.... I was blowing dirt outta my nose for WEEKS!!! You guys kinda owe it to me..... Make me a winner!!! P.S. I'm one of Lady Gaga's 'gay gays' and I would really love to get all swaggered-out and get down with Chromeo... The music goes full circle... See what Devo has done to me?!?!?

Greetings, Beautiful Mutants! I deserve to win this contest because 1. I have been a hopelessly DEVOted DEVO fan for three years now (a bit of a chunk of my life considering I'm not even a legal adult quite yet) 2. I have absolutely no money whatsoever to spend on a rock concert, 3. I am waiting for DEVO to pop my rock concert cherry (meaning I have never seen a rock concert in my life and am waiting to see them) 4. I just won a full-ride merit scholarship to a local college, and I have worked VERY hard during these past four years of high school to earn that (this also means that I haven't had the time to see DEVO on account of studying so hard, and I really need a break, and just because I have college now paid for doesn't mean I have money to see a rock concert) and 5. I want to witness the beauty of a real live rock concert for the first time. This digital age where you can watch concerts online still pales in comparison to the primal pulse of a live drummer, the awe-inspiring strums of guitars, and the sweet harmony of singing voices. I'm not your average member of "generation text" is what I'm trying to say! DEVO's time is running out, and I've got to see them. Thanks.

I deserve to win for a few reasons. I'm an active duty military member married to another active duty member. I've just returned from a nine month deployment that was only supposed to be 6. We have 5 children under the age of 10 and none of them seem to get along. When we got married we didn't get a honeymoon as I was immediately shipped out. Both of us suffer from multiple health problems and in trying to get out of debt to create better lives for our kids we haven't even been out to eat together for almost two years. Both of us are fans of 95% of the artists attending and this would be a wonderful chance for a honeymoon we never had.

I deserve to win because I have 5 kids, 3 of which are under the age of 4. I need a nice fun weekend without them for once. I have a lot of health problems. I am a cancer survivor since 2000 cancer free. My husband found me blue/gray and unresponsive in 2007, from a severe PE, and a little over a year ago I went into cardiac arrest and was gone for 4 minutes. I have been through a lot in my 34 years, thats just the icing. Having all access to see Lady GaGa would be a dream come true. To feel young and a live again....please consider me to be your winner, I think I deserve a vacation.

I am an intense devo fan. I strongly belive in Devolution, I have hunted down every album on vinyl (in exception to Smooth Noodle Maps, its tricky to find), I own an energy dome. I have been following the new album since they premiered their new songs in Dallas. Thus I am a good candidate to go on behalf of the spudboys worldwide.

I am CLUB DEVO Member # 000011 and have been a devoted fan since the very beginning. It would be an absolute honor to witness Lollapalooza in person.

My father is a HUGE Devo fan and has been listening to them since about 1979. Actually, he was the one who turned me into a fan as well. I was hoping that, if I should win, I would take him to the show as a belated father's day gift. I would also like the opportunity to see Greenday, AFI, and Wolfmother as I am a fan of these bands but don't get to go to concerts very often.
on Sat Apr 24th, 2010 said...
I am a huge, huge Devo fan and I've never gotten to experience the supposedly beautiful city of Chicago. I think the combination would prove to be something of a life-changing experience for me.

I would love to win these tickets as times have been tough for my family financially. I was going to take my wife's little sister as she's never been to a concert festival before. We are both big fans of most of the bands at this year's Lollapalooza. (the rest we just need to listen to) I am making a big move to start a new job in the next couple months. It would be great to see family again and do something that I love.

Everyone DESERVES to win, but only one can. I don't know anything about DEVO other than Whip It (whip it good, please!) and I think I deserve to win. I want to take my girlfriend with me if I do win, just to show her a good time, to see a smile on her face. We can't afford to go anywhere just yet and I want to take her out.
on Sat Apr 24th, 2010 said...
i should win because i have a seven inch syringe shooting DEVO into my vein tattoed on my right arm. mark mothersbaugh drew it. that is commitment. i deserve these tickets.

I should win, because I have not been able to afford a vacation in 10 years, nor a great concert in more then 15 years and I am one of those rare people that at my age love Lady GaGa,and Love her music. She reminds me of a modern day Madonna and I was rocking to Devo before most these kids were born!

I'm as Beautiful as a woman could be. I want to shine in the crowd so that DEVO can see me and sing straight to me...and deliver my ears some GREAT ear candy! PLeeeeease, I LOVE DEVO, " GO FORWARD! MOVE AHEAD! " and gimme the winning tickets...I beg You, with this " UNCONTROLABLE URGE " to Win!!!!

I deserve to win because I saved Bob #2 (or was it #1) from being pushed off a balcony on the Freedom of Choice Tour at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston! If it wasn't for me, none of you children would not have been able to see them!
on Sat Apr 24th, 2010 said...
I should be the winner because way back before even Whip It, I used to get beat up in high achool for listening to Devo (and Talking Heads and the Ramones, etc etc). More than 30 years later, they're finally getting their due and it'd be great to see them in this setting.
on Sat Apr 24th, 2010 said...
I know I am supposed to leave a comment as to why I should win, but really, how can any one say that they deserve to win something as huge as this? All I can say is music has been a big part of my life. If it weren't for music, I am not so sure I would be standing here today. I have had many hardships in my life, from an alcoholic parent who turned to drugs, to being abused, to always being the outcast. Music was always that one thing there for me, that didn't judge me on where I was living, what I was wearing... It was there for me when I had no one else to turn to. Music has always been my outlet, it made me strong when I was feeling my weakest. Music became the lyrics of my life. Now, I am sure someone who boasts of being "Lady Gaga's Number 1 Fan" will end up winning this contest. But I believe that music is so much more then the artist themselves, it's the lyrics, the message, the feeling you get when your heart beats to the rhythm of you favorite song. It's the emotions carried with it... Emotions & music go hand & hand. So good luck to those who have entered to win. I am sure that this event will be amazing. :)

Myself and my girlfriend are intense Devo fans and this would be an amazing chance to get to see them during their latest tour for their first new album in 20 years. I even have a homemade Devo "energy dome" that I wore during my college graduation a couple years back... just to show how DEVO-ted I am to the band. Anyways, I think it would be an amazing experience and thank you for the consideration.

Green Day is my favorite band of all time. I first heard their music when I was 15 years old and it opened me up to the world of music that I live today. I didn't even really listen to music all that much until I heard Green Day, but now my entire life revolves around it. I do sound and set up at a local venue in Seattle, and It's all I look forward to every week. Music is my life, and It's all thanks to Green Day.

Ummmm. Hello. I had a Lady Gaga themed party at my house. I am a true super fan who needs to be reunited with my idol promptly. My BF who WILL come with me once i win these tickets is a grunge freak who loves soundagrden more than me. WE MUST GO. IF you dont choose us to go to lalapalooza roxwell.com will lose all credibility as a website and fail. This is simply the truth of the matter, no hyperbole required. It is imperative to fly us to chicago! This is a command not a request. Google me *****!

Dear, Roxwel
About twelve odd years ago a group of Russian spies destroyed everything I loved. My house, my marriage & several valuable pieces from the family beanie baby collection. I've been on the hunt for them ever since, travelling all corners of the globe, exhausting most if not all of my income. Like a wise man once said "Leave no stone unturned, no bread left unbuttered." I live very closely by those words, but in lieu of my recent financial struggles I was close to having to give up. That is until a source of mine received some valuable information..... ONE OF THE SPIES LIVES IN CHICAGO & apparently is a HUGE Blues Traveler fan. Please, Roxwel give me Lollapalooza tickets so that I may avenge the death of Derby the fine Mane Horse & may time provide, rock out to the sweet Indie Rock sounds of Yeasayer.
Love, Rebekah
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I will document the entire experience for Roxwel readers. I'm fun, can schmooze with the best of them and am never afraid to get dirty. The lineup makes me cream my jeans whenever I look at it and I am a about to be a broke ass college graduate who needs something to look forward to because this economy is crushing my spirits. I fight the pessimism with the sweet sounds of music and I ALWAYS BRING IT.
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
Because I am her biggest fan, about to graduate law school and I am broke as hell!!! I would looove to see her and the rest of the line up. It would be a wonderful gift to myself, if I could afford it.

music is inspirational to me at all times and this lineup is amazing. being able to see this would be absolutely ace. thank you

Lolla is on my bucket list. I live for music and the lineup is epic. My best friend and I have rented an RV and driven down to Coachella, we've flown to Austin for city limits, and going to Lolla together would be perfection. My favorite city, my favorite person, music, music, music. Ooh...let my good karma finally pay off!

I would love to go because it has always been my dream to go to lolla, I have never been to a music festival and I think it would be a great experience. The bands that would be there include some of my favorites, such as cut copy, the strokes, and phoenix. I want to go so badly! I also have always wanted to visit chicago! Thanks
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
The first band I ever saw was the Strokes. I was 16 and the venue was the Argon Ballroom. I can honestly say it was the best experience of my life. I say this regardless of the fact that my lifeless girlfriend, who I begrudgingly took with, was whimpering at the back of the crowd about "how hot she was." Needless to say that relationship ended after I sent her to grab some water and b-lined towards the stage. Before I saw that the Strokes were playing Lola, I was ready to hold up a bank in order to go see them at Rockness. (This is a music festival in Scotland, tickets would have cost a lot!) But then when I saw that not only the Strokes, but MGMT, Cypress Hill, (Motha F#ckin) Cut Copy!, Grizzly Bear, Phoenix, Social Distortion and so many more would play at the Palooza, I knew then and there if I missed this show I would never forgive myself. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.

I would really like to enjoy this experience with my best friend since elementary school. We share musical adventures and this would definitely be the icing on the cake.
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I have not been away from New York in the last 7 years, and I've been working damn hard! I deserve to win this contest because my 3 favorite artists will be there- Lady Gaga, Social Distortion, AND Gogol Bordello- and I want to be there, too. I have tried and failed to get tickets to the Monster Ball, but it's impossible on a teacher's salary. A full pass to Chicago would more than make up for it;)
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
Chicago is where i WANTED to go to school, but alas it didnt work out because of money. So the chance to be in my favorite city AND see my favorite artists such as la roux, the xx, frightened rabbit and lady gaga would make this broke college student from MI awfully happy!
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I know of and love 90% of Lollapalooza's lineup, but unfortunately im a poor college student from CA who cant afford a festival pass, a hotel room, AND a plane ticket :( so please consider me as the winner of your contest! :)
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I am a huge fan of Soundgarden, Green Day, Social D, and Wolfmother and I am a fan of a lot of the lesser known bands playing! I am a college student in Idaho, so my opportunities to see concerts are extremely limited. Lollapalooza is one of the most legendary festivals of all time, and I can't imagine how great it would be to go, so please send me to Lollapalooza!
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I absolutely love Lady Gaga and the windy city! This would be an amazing opportunity since I'm a college student and don't have the funds to see a whole lot of concerts or travel.

Its a dream of mine to go to the legendary Lollapalooza. The lineup this year is fantastic, as are the lineups every year, really. I have been such a big Strokes fan for years and have never had a chance to see them live so this would just be hands down the greatest experience ever.

I've loved Arcade Fire since Funeral. Lady Gaga is the greatest thing to happen to pop music in years. Green Day and the Strokes are old favorites. And of course the XX and the Black Keys are incredible too. Please make this girl happy, and SEND ME TO LOLLAPALOOZA!!!!
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I have been mad about The Arcade Fire since I first heard them three years ago, and I managed to come in just as they stopped touring. Now that they have started again, they aren't coming anywhere near me. Please send me to Lollapalooza!

Wolfmother is among the 5 or 6 bands in the present day that I have the most respect for. Their making music that revives and rejuvenates classic rock sound. I work hard in school, I keep my parents happy, and I rarely have time to go to shows at all (only been to 2 in my life). I don't have any other reasons to go besides the fact that I love Wolfmother more than any other band today so, please, let me be the one to enjoy Wolfmother.
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
Wolfmother and their music have inspired and changed my life for the better. They inspire me to be a better human being and to live my life the best I can. I deserve to win these tickets because I am Wolfmother. In 2009 I drove to Boston to see them, i was in a car accident and almost didnt get to the concert. The EMTs said "Looks like your going to miss that show". My eyes steeled. Then i was almost arrested because of the 'herbal' smell of my car. The officer was kind enough to let me loose. I traversed South Boston on foot with my best friend and brother, I got to my car which was towed, paid the man for dealing with my wreckage, said my goodbyes and then we set off for the concert. I was lucky enough though to show up right before they went on stage and even got an Autograph from the drummer Dave Atkins. I deserve to see that concert because I went through hell to see them once and I think if anyone did that they would deserve to see them again for free.
on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 said...
I would want to win tickets for this because I am such a huge fan of Green Day and of course Soundgarden as well as my little brother. He has been wanting to see them for over 6 years now and this will be the perfect chance for us to see them live. Not to mention this would be a great oppurtunity for us because we have never been out of state before, so it would be a great experience to meet new people and be in a new environment than here in Dallas. I hope that you pick us, that would be great!

I would LOVE to win tickets to this to see Lady Gaga along with the other bands!! I would bring my niece who has never gone to a concert!! This would be a great experience for the both of us!!! I would love to win these tickets and everything because I love music and what it has to offer me. I love death metal and surprisingly it has helped me through a lot this past year..and other types of music as well. I know I should write why I deserve to win further but for me its about the chance to see great bands play not about getting away to Chicago for a vacation. I live in Eastern Iowa and no bands really come here and a chance to go see some would be amazing.

I would love to win these tickets. To see arcade fire would be a dream come true.. literally. I have dreams that I am at one of their concerts all the time haha. On my list of things to do before I die, seeing Arcade Fire live is number 1. I've watched every video of them playing on youtube that I could find, but it just doesn't cut it. Regine is my idol, and their music has inspired me to play music myself. I love everything about them and to get to see them would be the best day of my life! To see all of the other bands would be amazing too since the lineup has so many of my favorite bands. MGMT, Minus the Bear, the XX, Metric, Grizzly Bear, Phoenix.. ahh it would be the best day EVER. I can't even describe how much I would love to go to this! Pick me. Please.. With sugar on top :)

Erykah is a legend in her own time and I am a huge fan. I would love to win to be a part of an historic moment. Lollapalooza has successfully created historic musical moments for every year it has been in existence. Winning the opportunity to attend this event would give me a chance to surprise my King for his 40th born day celebration, in August, and allow me a chance to relax and have some fun (a huge change from the everyday pace of being a parent, working, and going to school).

You should send me, because my mother and i waited in line for 8 hours outside of the mellon arena for the pittsburgh lady gaga concert. the people in front of us bought the last two tickets for the whole show. we were next in line, and i cried for days. i would donate my organs to see her perform. we were so devastated. i'm the most hardcore fan. i have over 60 of her unreleased songs, included her entire original album from when she was a teenager called "red and blue." i'm in college, and this was the only extra thing that i could afford to save money and go to. then her show sold out right in front of us, and i wanted to die. i will do anything to see this show. i've already been through hell for her. we've been entering hundreds of entries into different contests to win tickets. seeing her at this would be the most incredible experience of my life.

I love Green Day's look, lyrics, meaning, music, and just the band as a whole. I relate so well to them. This would be a dream come true for me.

I deserve to go because i have to see lady gaga! She has been an inspiration to me. She know what the freaks, outcasts and the unknowns have to go through. I went to school in a high end high school in Iowa but was treated different due to my families so called "lower level" income. She has helped me through heartbreak and hell as i have had a rough year. I know this sounds short and cheesy but this is me and i want to win more than anything. Please give me a chance at this amazing opportunity! Peace love and little monsters forever!

I fell madly in love with Arcade Fire back in 2007. I remember it like yesterday. It was January and my friend played Crown of Love from Funeral for me and it seemed to melt away the bleak winter day around me. It was love at first sound really. So I quickly got on ticketmaster to see if they were playing in Chicago soon. They were in May. I began to scavenge right then for tickets. It was sold out for three nights straight in January. I couldn't find a ticket anywhere. With a great sigh and deep sting I reserved myself to knowing they would come back through. And then they didn't. I swore as the months passed and no new concerts were posted that whenever they returned to the windy city I would do whatever it took to see them, I would do more for them than I would a klondike bar. Now here is this contest which is possibly allowing me the dream of engulfing myself in the mastery of music that is Arcade Fire live. Please afford me this one pleasure in my seemingly increasingly stressful and pleasureless life.

Bands come and go but Green Day has always been number one for me. I have grown and loved these boys for seven years now and I don't plan on ever stopping. This band means more to me than anyone can imagine. This band has made me the person I am today through their music and who they are. When my ex boyfriend broke up with me i was devastated and cried for a while until my best friend came over and played my favorite Green Day song at the time and it made me feel a lot better. They always make me feel better if i am in a bad mood and that is only one of the many things I love about them. If I win this contest I will be the happiest person ever and be able to die happy.

I should win this contest, other than the fact that this line-up holds many wonderful artists, is because Green Day is more than a band to me. They are part of my life, my being. I have loved them for about eleven years of my life now and they hold a special meaning to me. I owe many friendships and gratitude to them and their music that means so much to me. People may look at me like I'm crazy for this and I know that it's difficult to understand. If I could have a chance to see them headlining Lollapalooza it would definitely be the experience of a lifetime.

Besides that the line up holds some of my most favorite bands/acts, as a musician to even experience Lollapalooza as an attendee is an amazing achievement, in my book. Billie Joe Armstrong is the reason I started playing guitar and sang to write my own music. I was supposed to see Green Day in 2005 on their American Idiot tour, but the day before my friend gave my ticket to somebody else. I had been a Green Day fan for 6 six years, and waited five months for that show. I can honestly say it hurt so bad to be shot down like that. But enough sad stuff, I wanted to see them on their current tour but they didn't come to Portland, and Seattle sold out. So, why not see them at Lollapalooza '10!!! Oh, and of course Lady Gaga! She and Billie Joe are the reason I keep up with music (seems repetitive with the whole Billie Joe thing)! I can also promise that this opportunity, if given to me, will not go to waste, and I will not sell my tickets for money.

I don't deserve to win... I'm a horrible person. I will just sell the tickets to feed my destructive scrap booking habit. For the love of God, please pick someone else!

Ps. April and I have some pretty nice dance moves including: the mashed potato, the space cowboy, and the Charleston. We want to spread our whiskey love!

In 2008, my friend April and I saved up to go to Lollapalooza. The line up that year was ridiculous and we had many sleepless just thinking about it. Unfortunately in July, I was involved in a car accident almost totaling my car. After all of the post-car accident drama, I could not afford to go anymore. =( So, hopefully I will get lucky this year and win this contest. Plus my 21st birthday is July 11 and this will make a great belated birthday gift! =)

Because Music is the window to our souls....and our souls need it in the future so we can overcome this sad economic time in our lives...Music is my passion and drive in life... Arcade Fire is one of my top bands that I can relate to because they get so into their music you can almost hear fire come out of them and I hear they are that much better LIVE....I have always wanted to go to a Lollapalooza Concert but never had the opportunity... I grew up in the music background with hippie parents that always encouraged us to play music...and they taught us that no matter what life may bring, music will always be there for you....whether you are happy, you are sad....it has everything you need....My father who owned a music store also a musician, would bring home an instrument every Friday for my brother and I just to learn about it & educate but also decide what instrument to play...I got that from the cello, harmonica & ukele, my brother plays the guitar, and sings in a punk band....but we were so busy doing that and going to practices everyday, that we didnt have time to be kids if you will....now its my turn!!! I am a 33 single mom cellist, graphic designer, who works from home...I am DYING TO see all the bands but especially ARCADE FIRE!!!!
I didnt get to see them when they came to my town of Austin, TX for ACL fest a few yrs ago but we accidently ran into them at a restaurant during that time...My daughter was playing peek-a-boo with a man behind us in a booth and when he got up to leave he turns and says your daughter is really cute....When I turned around with food in mouth and on my chin, I nearly choked to discover it was Win Butler, lead singer of Arcade Fire and his wife Reggine!!!! ...
Music makes me happy,

I would like to see Lady Gaga at Lollapalooza because I tried and tried to get Standing Room tickets to her St. Paul show, but they sold out in seconds! I have two different weddings on August 6th and it is my birthday on August 7th. I would much rather skip the weddings for Gaga and celebrate my 20th birthday with a BANG!

I have always wanted to go to Lollapalooza, or any music festival for that matter, but as a starving college student from Texas there is no way I could afford tickets, airfare, and a hotel room. Also, my friend and I have been planning a trip for about 3 years and it has never happened due to these money issues. I love music, but never get to go to shows. I would love nothing more than to see Arcade Fire, MGMT, The New Pornographers, Grizzly Bear, Chromeo, Dirty Projectors, Matt & Kim, The Temper Trap, Deer Tick, and Minus the Bear with my older sister.

I NEED to see Soundgarden. NEED.

Personally, I think you should give the tickets to a single mother of twins who has worked very hard over the last 12 years, needs a vacation, and would love to experience some of the stuff she has heard Rock God Jesse talk so much about...just sayin. :-)

Because Lollapalooza would only pay airfare for the first 18 members of the Arcade Fire, and somehow deemed my washboard and triangle skills "unnecessary". This wrong needs to be righted. Also the guitarist from Soundgarden borrowed $15 bucks from me at an Albuquerque 7-11 in '91. said he was good for it.

Because my 3-yr old daughter's first words were "Dah dah, I want to go to f'ing Lolla with you!" ... I was so proud, so let's make this happen! And remember, if I don't win, a child (and maybe even a kitten) will cry.

I should win because Chicago is my hometown and in case I wander off randomly after the excitement of the Soundgarden reunion I will know to veer away from the lake side of the park and thus avoid any awkward aquatic accidents.
