(1) Unison is a band from Belgrade, Serbia, that emerged somewhere in 1994 and honestly, doesn?t have anymore, any connection (neither music or lyrics) with that time period. Some of the obvious reasons are that none in the band are straightedge anymore nor do the lyrics still preach of the bad influence of alcohol, coffee or sex on our young bodies. Whatever, Unison always thought it necessary (which is actually common sense) to stay away from any kind of ?ism; either because some are (fascism, sexism) idiotic, or so as to maintain some kind of individuality in an environment where branding and classification are forced on as a standard, rather then a wish or a necessity. Because Unison is a hardcore/punk band, further branding is not needed nor wanted. With our lyrics we try to avoid as much as possible the trap of empty slogans and of popular hardcore phrases and proclamations.
I think it?s good that the lyrics are not that simple so as to leave a possibility to be understood in different ways, or not understood at all. The music is again only hardcore/punk but with a shot of good metal and the rich musical tradition of the Balkan peninsula, as well as any other musical stream that we listen to and that influences our playing. The intention of the band is to play as much as possible, both in Serbia and abroad.
