In late 2004 Trick Daddy dropped his sixth and most successful album,
Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets. Peaking respectably at the #2 spot on the
Billboard 200,
Thug Matrimony is more than just another gangster rap album. Though there’s no shortage of thug anthems like
"Fucking Around" (which includes verses by Atlanta brothers-in-arms
T.I. and
Young Jeezy) and
"Gangster Living", Trick still manages to pack club hits such as the
Lil’ Jon-produced
"Let’s Go!" alongside heartfelt tearjerker tracks like
"I Cry" and
"The Children’s Song".
After two years in the studio, Trick finally released his hotly anticipated seventh album
Back By Thug Demand late 2006. Featuring appearances by stars like
Chamillionaire and
Birdman along with his usual 305 crew,
Back By Thug Demand is every bit as thuggingly diverse as
Thug Matrimony. The album has so far produced two singles,
"Tuck Ya Ice" and
"Bet That". Eager to follow up
Thug Demand, Trick Daddy plans to release an eighth album in 2008, tentatively titled
A Dedication to a Thug. Outside of his solo career Trick is a notable collaborator with other Miami artists, featuring prominently in much of
DJ Khaled’s work.
