Toni Braxton (born in Severn, Maryland, on 7 October, 1967) is an American singer and actress. Known for her husky alto voice, has won seven Grammy Awards and has sold over forty million records worldwide.She is Married to Mint Condition keyboardist Keri Lewis.
She first burst onto the scene in 1992 on the Boomerang Soundtrack, after Anita Baker turned down the opportunity. In 1993 Toni released her debut album simply titled, Toni Braxton. This album stayed at the top of the charts for a year and was a critically acclaimed album. Toni released her sophomore effort, Secrets in 1996 which also did very well on both R&B and Pop charts. From that album Toni got two #1 hits; You're Making Me High and Unbreak My Heart, which spent 14 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard top 100, and was a worldwide hit. After 5 Grammy awards and a little break, Toni Braxton came back strong with her 2000 album, The Heat. Though not as successful as her first two albums, The Heat went on to sell 4million copies and spawned the huge hit He Wasn't Man Enough. Toni has released 2 further albums, 2002's More Than A Woman, and 2005's Libra. Toni is currently in the studio working on her forthcoming album "Pulse" which will be released this summer via Atlantic Records.

Braxton topped the Billboard 200 with her 1993 self-titled debut album and continued that streak with her second studio album Secrets, which spawned the number-one smash hits "You're Makin' Me High" and "Un-Break My Heart". Although she had successful albums and singles, Braxton shortly filed for bankruptcy, but then returned with her chart-topping third album, The Heat. Her most recent albums were More Than a Woman, her last release under the Arista label, and Libra, her first and only release on Blackground. In 2009, she returned to the spotlight with "Yesterday", a #12 R&B hit which serves as the first single off her new album Pulse, released on May 4, 2010. Braxton was involved in the 7th season of the reality show Dancing with the Stars. Her professional partner was Alec Mazo. She was voted off in week five of the competition.
