His sophomore effort hit stores in early 2008, going by the title
Trilla - a portmanteau of "Trill" (a Southern slang combination of true and real) and "Thriller", a homage to
Michael Jackson and his hit single of the same name.
Trilla proved to audiences that the six foot, three-hundred pound Ross was no flash in the pan, debuting again at #1 on the Billboard 200 and receiving a
Gold certification from the
RIAA less than two months after its release. Trilla has so far produced three singles:
"Speedin",
"The Boss", and
"Here I Am".
Somewhat surprisingly, Ross recently revealed that he plans to release a third full-length album by the end of 2008, hot on the heels of
Trilla. Tentatively titled
Deeper Than Rap, the album is set to feature appearances by T.I. and
Pharrell, though he has revealed little else about the nature of his upcoming project.
