In 2007 Paul Wall returned to the forefront of the rap game with the release of his second major Swishahouse album
Get Money, Stay True. The critically acclaimed album - which features appearances by rap legends
Snoop Dogg and
Jermaine Dupri, as well as Houston locals
Lil’ Keke and
Yung Redd - debuted at the number 8 spot on the
Billboard 200 the week of its release and has so far spawned two singles,
"Break ‘Em Off" and
"I’m Throwed". After a number of high-profile collaborations throughout 2007 (most notably with
Three 6 Mafia and
DJ Khalid) Paul Wall began working on his third record,
Life in the Fast Lane, which he plans to release sometime in 2008.
Outside of his solo career, Paul Wall is also a member of
Expensive Taste, a crossover project featuring rapper
Skinhead Rob of
The Transplants and drummer
Travis Barker, formerly of pop-punk band
Blink 182. He is also the co-owner of
Grills By Paul Wall, a Houston jewelry store specializing in hip-hop bling.
