Neurosonic is the scion of Jason Darr. As vehement and unapologetic as the creator, the music of Neurosonic bears its own blend of fierce vigor. Neurosonic's blatant, brutally honest musings are an intense build of hard rock, industrial reinforcement, standout lyrics, and big, catchy, killer choruses.
Nuevo symphonic prodigy Jason Darr has an expansive musical history, since inception Jason has surrounded himself with a vast cross section of music. His true awakening occurred with the purchase of 'The Beatles Past Masters Volumes I & II'. Beginning his journey with a guitar at thirteen and playing in several projects, Jason has taken the experiences acquired through out his life and used each one as building block; paving the way to Neurosonic.
Darr had a brush with success with a cover of Madonnas 2000 dance/techno opus Music with prior project Out Of Your Mouth (Vikrecordings/BMG). This cover proved to be a stroke of genius for the Calgary-based rockers. Their version of the song earned heavy radio play and solid rotation on MuchMusic, peaking at No. 5 in the networks weekly video countdown, and selling 15,000 units in Canada alone. In the end it was Darrs electronic mastery and musical arrogance that separated him from the rest in the band. He had more in his sights then cover songs. Jason grasped inspiration from his roots and muses setting off on his own to write produce and record.
Neurosonic is a complete evolution from Out Of Your Mouth on every level. OOYM was a stifled project from beginning to end. This suffocation of his work is what spawned his new endeavor: taking core elements from the Beatles, Slipknot, System Of A Down and My Chemical Romance forging them with his emotionally charged vocals, dark keyboard infused melodies and pummeling rock riffs creating a revolution in sound. With a live performance that ignites the stage Jason Darr captivates audiences thrusting them into a frenzy.
Jason took the lead from the industrial movement, which then proved he could take the helm and create the entire masterpiece himself. Darr learned and mastered all of the instruments essential to complete his works. With an uncompromising work ethic Jason drove himself to become a top-notch studio technician. Since Jason has been immersed in the ever growing Canadian music scene his connections have afforded him the ability to bring in the areas best suited musicians to build his songs in his home studio.
Generating a collection of works that have no boundaries. Jason takes on topics not openly spoken about; from the farcical Ashley Simpson SNL travesty to music mogul malarkey plaguing todays suffering developing artists. Even rants about a prior emasculating relationships. All these controversial lyrics set against a veracity of sound.
