Born in New York City in 1966, Michael Livingston started singing at the age of five at City Tabernacle Seven Day Adventist Church in New York City his first song that he sang was Christ Is All and until this day his philosophy remains the same Chris is All wich reflex on his style of music in the present a blend of culture reggae with a strong cultural and spiritual contence. Michael Livingston has performed in prestigious events and locations such as the World Famous Apollo Theatre ,Reggae Sunsplash (Montego Bay,Jamaica), Marley Fest (Alajuela,Costa Rica) to name a few ,he has also been featured in news papers and magazines such as The Village Voice, New York Post, the New York Times and The Billboard Magazine,he has recorded for many labels in the past BMG,Bull Wackies,VP records ,CBS Records, and has many first timers such as the first to record Reggae in Spanish Bob Marley En Espaņol,the first Black owned recording Studio in Harlem and also the youngest business owner in Harlem in the nineties .
Michael Livingston has worked with Augustus Pablo,Sister Carol,Nardo Ranks,Action Fire,KRS One,Chicho Man,Culture Runaway,Az,Bunny Brissett,El General,Turbulance,Junior Reid,Judy Mowatt to name a few.
He also participated in a Latin-Reggae group called Kazamba,one of his firts groups that he experimented with the blend of Latin music and Reggae which was that we call now Reggaeton;which was very popular in Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico in the 90's,performed in concerts with groups such as D.L.g and Elvis Crespo.
He also was owner and host of two T.V shows i New York,Hip Hop Connections and Conversations With Livingston;the First one was a music program,and the Second one was an interviews and talk program with guest:Bennie Man,Spragga Benz,Capleton,Sugar Minott,KRS One,Jim Rogers,Ralph Cooper to name a few.
His current project includes a twelve piece band that perform mainly at beach events in Central America here are a few tracks i hope you will enjoy.
