The Jacka (born 1977) is the pseudonym of Dominick Newton. He is a rapper from Pittsburg, California who started his career as one of C-Bo's Mob Figaz (along with Rydah J. Klyde, Husalah, Fed-X, and AP9). The group's first album, C-bo's Mob Figaz, was released in 1999, which sold over 160,000 units independently. Since then The Jacka has released two solo albums: The Jacka in 2001, and The Jack Artist in 2005. He currently runs his own label, The Artist Records.

He began his career with the Pittsburg group Mob Figaz, their first album, C-Bo's Mob Figaz, was released in 1999 and was a minor hit on the Billboard Hip Hop chart entering in at #63 but it sold fairly well making 160,000 units sold. His first solo release Jacka of the Mob Figaz in 2001 sold over 30,000 units. Jacka sold these units himself, in the Bay Area and shipping to one-stops across the country. Though great support came from the Bay Area, sixty percent of Jacka?s sales came from outside of California. He currently runs his own label, The Artist Records.. His new project entitled "Broad Daylight" consists of 14 songs. Jacka won Ozone's patiently waiting award in 2008. The Jacka also converted to Islam and changed his name to Shaheed Akbar.
