R&B group formed by Amel Larrieux in the mid 1990's. The group was a duo made up of Amel Larrieux alongside former Mantronix member Bryce Wilson (AKA Bryce Luvah). Wilson reformed the group in 2001 with new singer Makeda Davis.
Groove Theory is an American R&B duo, best known for their 1995 hits "Tell Me", "Keep Tryin'" and "Baby Luv", from their self-titled debut album. The original version of the group was made up of female singer Amel Larrieux and male song-writer, actor, and producer Bryce Wilson. Larrieux left the group for a solo career in 1999 and was replaced by Mekada Davis. The new line-up also signified a dramatic change in style for the group which took a more contemporary R&B approach for their second album, The Answer. Despite moderate success of the first single "4 Sure" and a remix featuring Mya and Jagged Edge, The Answer went unreleased and the group stopped recording. Since, Wilson has appeared in the movie 'Beauty Shop' starring Queen Latifah, and he and Davis continue to write together for other artists like Beyoncé and Amerie. Bryce got his start in the oldschool hiphop group Mantronix going by the name Bryce Luv.

From Wikipedia:Groove Theory is an American R&B and hip hop music duo formed in New York City in 1993 when singer Amel Larrieux met rapper Bryce Wilson through a mutual friend, and while Amel was working at Rondor Music NY, as a receptionist. The two found themselves perfect for each other as both were upset with the direction their career was taking. Wilson hoped to use the group as a chance to utilize his production talents while Larrieux wanted a chance to shine in R&B.
The group received a deal with Epic Records, and in 1995, they released their self-titled debut album Groove Theory. The album features the gold-selling hit single "Tell Me" which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Larrieux left Groove Theory in 1999 to pursue a solo career, being replaced by Makeda Davis. The group signed with Columbia Records and recorded a new album, The Answer, which was expected for release in 2001. Displeased with Columbia's track record at the time with urban projects, Wilson asked for a release from the label, causing the album to remain unreleased. A single entitled "4 Shure" was released from the album to minor chart performance.
Larrieux began her solo career in her absence from the group, forming her own independent label Blisslife to distribute her music. Wilson appeared in the films Beauty Shop, "Trois" and "Hair Show" and produced music for the likes of Beyonce, Amerie and Mary J. Blige.
On February 4th in 2010, soulsummer.com announced that Amel Larrieux and Bryce Wilson have reunited and are currently in the studio working on their second official album.
