After leaving Roc-A-Fella, Cam’ron struck a deal with
Asylum Records (
Bun-B,
D4L) in 2005. After a well-publicized incident in 2005 win which Cam’ron was shot by carjackers (but refused to reveal their identity to the police) he released his fifth solo album,
Killa Season. Though not as financially successful as his Roc-A-Fella efforts, Killa Season has still sold well over 500,000 copies and produced three singles:
"Do Ya Thing",
"Touch It or Not", and
"Love My Life".
Outside of his solo career Cam’ron has released two albums with The Diplomats, 2003’s
Diplomatic Immunity and 2004’s
Diplomatic Immunity 2. He has also starred in a handful of movies, including the
State Property series (which features Philadelphia rapper
Beanie Siegel in its leading role) and his 2006 semi-autobiographical film
Killa Season.
