Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have a style all their own. Mixing aggressive, streetwise lyrics with an uncanny ability to harmonize together, the Bone Thugs are an instantly recognizable force in the rap game. Though they rap like Biggie or Tupac , they can also sing together like an inner-city Simon and Garfunkel. Members Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh-n-Bone, and Bizzy Bone alternate between rapid-fire rap and slow, harmonious synchronization, often multiple times within the same song. One of the few early 1990's rap groups to remain active today, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have a inimitable sound that has largely influenced many artists in the present day hip-hop community.

Coming from Cleveland, Ohio and originally billing themselves as the B.O.N.E. Enterpri$e, the members of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony had been rapping together since 1990, and recorded their first underground album Faces of Death in 1993. In 1994, after an improptu audition with former NWA member and prolific producer Eazy-E, they landed a contract with his label, Ruthless Records. They recorded their first album Creepin on ah Come Up the same year. Singles like Thuggish Ruggish Bone and Foe Tha Love of $ became instant hits, and their memorable street-choir sound brought them to the forefront of the rap scene.

If Creepin on ah Come Up was a hit, then their second album, 1995's E 1999 Eternal, dropped like a sledgehammer. Certifying 6x platinum and winning a Grammy for Best Rap Performance with nostalgic, introspective track Tha Crossroads, the Bone Thugs were at the top of their game. Over the next seven years, Bone Thugs-in-Harmony released four more albums. Of these the most influential was 1997’s The Art of War, which featured a long-awaited collaboration with Tupac and sold triple platinum.
