Biography

For the last 18 years Llander Veguila and Juan Morera have been performing as the reggaeton act Wisin & Yandel. The two were born in the same town in Puerto Rico where they both collaborated on developing their musical sound while working a series of low-paying jobs, hoping to catch a break. Their first chance to get their ideas out in a studio came in 1999, after working with DJ Dicky lead to a record deal with Fresh Production. It was there that they first appeared on a best selling compilation album before releasing their own album in 2000.

Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio went gold, as did each of their following four albums, and Wisin & Yandel became reggaeton fixtures. Broader fame eluded them until the reggaeton explosion that was underway in 2005 provided a fertile environment for the release of their album Pa'l Mundo, which spawned the hits "Rakata" and "Llamé Pa' Verte (Bailando Sexy)". Their emergence as mainstream stars of the reggaeton genre enabled them to further collaborate with talents like Daddy Yankee, whose international status paved the way for wider acceptance of the pair.

In 2006, Wisin & Yandel formed a record label named WY Records, which was their way of using their name to expose the many reggaeton artists whose work they had come to admire. The duo's first release on their own imprint, Los Vaqueros, featured a long list of collaborators and acted as a showcase for the label's young talent. Songs like "Pegao" and "Yo Te Quiero" have become dance floor staples at reggaeton clubs across the world.
