Serio

Serio is a Mexican-American (Chicano) rap artist from Los Angeles, California. His grandmother nicknamed him "Serio", which in Spanish means "serious" because even as a child he always had a serious look on his face. He was born and raised in Highland Park, a gang-ridden Hispanic neighborhood where he didn't always make the right choices, before later settling down in Spokane, Washington.

Serio made his debut as a recording artist in 2005. Prior to the release of his first major album Nightmares Turned Into Reality in 2006, he had moved as many as 113,000 units independently, with no distribution deals. Sales continue to be good from his own label Serio Controla Records. He has caused a buzz in the industry for someone so new and coming up so quick. His single "I've Got to Have You" off of his first album, had some rotation on radio stations throughout the United States. His next album N. T. I. R. Part 2: the Revenge of Serio is scheduled for release sometime in 2008. His up coming single "In L.A." features legendary rap artist Kid Frost, also known as the godfather of Chicano rap. Serio's newest single is "Serio Controla"...keep your eyes and ears open for more from this up-and-coming star!
