Born: September 10th, 1972Before turning to a fulltime career in music with the release of her debut album in 1998, Sara Groves was a high school teacher and graduate of Evangel University, through which she holds a Bachelor of Science in History and English. Since the release of Past The Wishing, Groves has never looked back, having since garnered 3 Dove Award Nominations as well as featuring on projects such as the City On A Hill series, World Entertainment's What A Mom album, and Randy Stonehill's Edge of the World album. Her 2005 release, Add To The Beauty, was voted Album of the Year by CCM Magazine. In 2004, Evangel University awarded Sara their 'Outstanding Young Alumnus Award' in recognition of the contributions she has made with her life in the short period since her graduation.Sara is married with two sons, Kirby and Toby, and has also contributed essays and articles to Relevant Magazine and the Shaw Books publication The Art of Being: Reflections on the Beauty & The Risk of Embracing Who We Are, among others.

Sara Groves (born Sara Lee Colbaugh, September 10, 1972 in Vineland, New Jersey, grew up in Springfield, Missouri, resides in Burnsville, Minnesota) is an American Contemporary Christian singer, record producer, and author.

Groves received her Bachelor of Science degree in history and English in 1994 from Evangel University, a private Christian university in Springfield, Missouri. Groves spent four years teaching high school in Rosemount, Minnesota before recording her first album, Past the Wishing, in 1998. Since then, she has released nine additional albums and appeared on several others. Groves has been nominated for three Dove Awards including "New Artist of the Year" in 2002 and "Special Event Album of the Year 2003" by the Gospel Music Association. She was named one of the best Christian music artists of 2005 and the album, Add to the Beauty, was named "Album of the Year" for 2005 by CCM Magazine.
