My Brightest Diamond is a band led by Shara Worden, which was formed in New York City, NY, USA (2006). Worden is the granddaughter of an Epiphone-playing traveling evangelist; her father was a National Accordion Champion and her mother a classical organist. Having a family of wanderers who migrated across the U.S. every few years, the landscape and the musical influences were constantly changing: Spanish tangos, Sunday morning , and were the accompaniment to her home life.

My Brightest Diamond is the project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Shara Worden. The band has released three studio albums, 2006's Bring Me the Workhorse, 2008's A Thousand Shark's Teeth and 2011's All Things Will Unwind, along with remix albums Tear It Down and Shark Remixes, Volumes 1-4. Worden has also recorded and performed with The Decemberists (as "The Queen" on their album Hazards of Love) and Sufjan Stevens' albums Illinoise and The Age of Adz.
