Jurassic 5 had members: MC's: Chali 2na, Zaakir (Soup), Akil and Marc 7 with producers Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark. Cut Chemist left the group in 2006. The group broke up the following year.
Jurassic 5 was originally a six-piece hip-hop crew that was formed in 1993 at the Los Angeles, California venue Good Life. Rappers Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir aka Soup, Mark 7even, and turntable maestros DJ Nu-Mark and DJ Cut Chemist came together from two separate crews, the Rebels of Rhythm and Unity Committee. Cut Chemist left the band in 2006 to pursue a solo career. The group debuted for TVT Records in 1995 with the single for Unified Rebelution.

Jurassic 5 are a American alternative hip hop group formed in 1993 from members of two previous groups, Rebels of Rhythm and Unity Committee by rappers Charles Stewart (Chali 2na), Dante Givens (Akil), Courtenay Henderson (Zaakir), Marc Stuart (Mark 7even), and disc jockeys Mark Potsic (DJ Nu-Mark) and Lucas Macfadden (Cut Chemist). The six piece crew that was formed, came out of the Los Angeles, California Venue called "Good Life". The group broke up in 2007, shortly after releasing their fourth LP Feedback, citing "Musical Differences". The group reformed and played their first show back together at South by Southwest in 2012
